Is this a new bug?!? The app update number isn’t in a red bubble nor is it on Home Screen?

I can’t remember the last time mine showed a badge for App Store. But I’ve turned badges off for most of my apps anyway.

This was listed as one of the features of 27 and this is the first beta I am noticing things opening super fast.

A Build doesn’t mean that it’s close to the final. A Build means they have tested only one Build for Beta 7, Right?

Beta 6 was my first. Very fast compared to iOS 26. And battery life is a little bit better. I was really surprised.

Well actually the A means it’s so close to the final release meaning the RC could be next or beta 8

I jumped in on beta 4. No regrets whatsoever. Runs better than any version of iOS 26 in my experience. I think it’s very safe for most people to install on their daily drivers.

My iPhone 17 got super hot after updating to Beta 7 for like 5 minutes, but indexing didn't happen again.

Correction: Indexing banner came back

When automatic app updates are on, the badge never shows. It's been like this for quite a while. Turn automatic app updates off if you want to see the badge.

Red bubble only appears if automatic app updates are disabled.

Anyone else seeing this on iPhone 16e (Beta 7)? It didn't happen in Beta 6. It only occurs when I open the WiFi list from Control Center, swipe home, and return to the WiFi list. A circle pops up briefly.

Actually an “a” at the end of the build string means, that THAT specific build has only been compiled once.
Another compile of the same build would be a “b” and so on.

That is - and only that - what the letter at the end of the build number stands for. Neither does it indicate a “close to release” state nor does is count backwards (it’s the other way around: it counts upwards with every compile of one build as stated above).
