I just saw on the front page that 7.0.2 expired on 26th September. What does that mean then?
Where did you see something like that on the front page?

----------

well you can't have it both ways.

You either want access to things from the lockscreen, or you don't.

If you choose not to, you are going to have to unlock the phone to do things like access control center, open apps, etc.

Pretty simple...
Siri allows you to "have it both ways". You can have it enabled when locked but if you ask it to enable airplane mode it will ask you to unlock your phone first. Seems like a case like that has some separately designed treatment, so wouldn't be much of a step to have something similar for the same kind of functionality available from the Control Center when the phone is locked.

Similarly Siri has a separate control for voice dialing when the phone is locked, which can be disabled while still leaving Siri available. Again, not that much of a stretch if something similar was set up for Control Center options where when enabled to be available when the phone is locked a separate setting can be present to make some features (like the top settings toggles) to not be available, while leaving others like music controls, for example, still there.

So, while it is pretty much "it's either there or it's not" when it comes to the Control Center when the phone is locked right now, it certainly doesn't mean it shouldn't be enhanced, and based on other improvements Apple has made to various features they've introduced over time (like Siri or even Do Not Disturb), there's a good chance that functionality will likely be enhanced to allow for better controls (especially with various concerns popping up in the media, even if they are "played up" to some degree).

^^ I didn't say it wasn't possible. Of course they could make it happen if apple wanted to add the feature.

But, they don't. That's the point. You either enable control center from the lockscreen, or you disable it. You don't get to enable half of it. You don't get that choice, plain and simple.

Maybe in a future update it would be nice, but right now, you don't have the choice to require a password for airplane mode if control center is enabled. That's all I said.

I think I found an annoying messaging bug. Every time I try and type something then press enter to leave space to paste to, when I tap and hold to paste I get the magnifying glass but when I let go I don't get the paste option. I have to press enter again and paste on the line above the bottom. It seems if you have any text and press enter where your cursor if at the very bottom you can't paste there.

Same here! I hate that. So simple yet so frustrating.

Wtf are you talking about?? Pasting even in iOS 6 wasn't tap and hold but rather double tap the cursor! And I tried it, using double tap just works fine as it did with previous iterations of iOS.
Again, don't blame things on new software (on the user's phone) if it is to be blamed on old hardware (in the user's head).

No actually that person is right, there is definitely a tap text bug.

I also get the magnifying glass instead of trying to point to a section where to insert my text. That's definitely a bug.

You can do it either way, but tap and hold has generally been the main one that is usually mentioned and used by most for years now.

is anyone else having trouble pulling up music controls on the lock screen? It used to work with a double tap of the home button, but now mine does nothing.

Its all on the Control Centre now so you need to have that set so you can access it from the lock screen and then drag it up from the bottom.

I found that it's a lot harder trying to rewind and fast forward music on the lock screen. It's not even responsive.

I'm shocked "play next" wasn't added to the music app in iOS 7.

Swipe up from the bottom of the lock screen.

Kind of sucks that you need to allow access to all of Control Center features from then lock screen just to have music controls available that were available on their own for years before iOS 7.

Although, if you play a song and then lock your phone, the music controls will be prominently placed on the lock screen.

Thats there. But if the music stops for some reason (let's say it's steaming and it gets stuck for a bit) sometimes no simple way to start it again from the lock screen without using control center since the controls disappear in a situation like that. Happened already a number of times to me, and I don't even listen to music as much as probably quite a few people. Not a big deal by any means, but certainly loss of some previously available functionality that was useful.

Oy, thanks. I disabled control center on the lock screen, so I guess I no longer have quick access to the music controls.

Exactly. I don't listen to music all that much either, but when I do, this is a function that I liked using pre-ios7.

Is apple "forcing" users to use "the latest and greatest" just to get smooth expierece?

In much the same way Aero can be disabled in Windows 7 system, to improve performane, Aple doesn't allow you to disable the fly-in/fly-out in iOS 7, or older devices capable of running it.

While this may be smooth sailing fir thise with iPhone 5 and above, i have seen issues on my iPad 4th generation, to the extent switching between keyboard/symbols takes a long time in a cases ti the point i bet anoyed.

Similarly, when keyboard appears, someyimes it takes time to response, if your a fast tyoer like me, so you may double-up on entered characters as it catches up.

I beleive the later iPhones would be more smooth. Thus, Apples done iOS 7 delibatly with the fly-in/fly-out of icons, their is no way to disable this, users will find it unresponsive, and upgrade to the iPhone 5 or later.

Yet, it works fine on my iPad 2....maybe you're one of this "hyper-sensitive" types? ;)

My favorite little thing in iOS 7 is that there's now a button for Private browsing inside Safari's new tab window, so you don't have to tunnel into settings.

I have Control Center disabled on the lock screen, and I get the same old controls that've been there for years?

And if that music stops and at a later point you quickly want to start it up again from lock screen where those controls wouldn't be there anymore at the top, what would you do then?
