You can access control centre on the lock screen! Just go to settings -> control centre -> access on lock screen

No I meant getting rid of allowing access to 'Airplane Mode' on the lock screen in a subsequent iOS update.

A thief could just put the phone into airplane mode instantly and you have no hope of remote wiping your phone or even locating it. Apple haven't thought this through...

Sure a thief could just turn your phone off but this makes their life harder. In the mean time I've turned off access to control centre on the lock screen.

Apple need to look into this...

They already did, the solution is if you're concerned, hide control center on lock screen.

I can't start playing music from the lock screen if I hide the control centre though.

EDIT: Looks like CNET have a recent article on this matter - http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-5...lane-mode-an-ios-7-security-flaw-researchers/

well you can't have it both ways.

You either want access to things from the lockscreen, or you don't.

If you choose not to, you are going to have to unlock the phone to do things like access control center, open apps, etc.

Pretty simple...

It's evident as I pointed out before that I want quick access to the apps. I just don't want to be able to put the device into airplane mode.

I'm surprised Apple has a laxed attitude towards this, considering they've recently implemented the activation lock feature in iOS 7.

cool, but that's not how it works.

like I said, you either get control center on the lockscreen, or you have to unlock to get those functions. You decide which one you want.

Annoying experiencing control center and notification center stop working? For example, at random times, when I swipe up or down to get to CC or NC, they won't come up. Swiping the edges of my screen is broken (software wise). When I get a notification banner I can swipe down to get to NC, but then I can't swipe up to get out of it, I have to click the home button. A restart fixes this problem but it's really annoying. Anyone else? Any faster fixes than constantly restarting?

lol. Just because Apple made a design mistake doesn't undermine the usefulness of Control Center on the lock screen. Apple just needs to disable the airplane switch on the lockscreen or something. Why are you supportive of a clear lapse in judgement on Apple's part?

I mean sure, the hard reset key combo is going to work regardless of Control Center but I'm willing to bet far fewer potential thieves know about that one.

You think if a thief is clever enough to bring up control centre and set up airplane mode - then I am sure he/she will know about hard reset key combo as well… Give some credit to the thief.. they are clever enough to pick pockets, they are clever enough to work out how to hide a 'picked phone'….

I've just noticed that my lock screen wallpaper on my iPhone 5 has gone all blurry??

I've taken a screen shot here:

Image

I've set the same wallpaper on my wife's iPhone 4 running iOS 7 and it is not blurry and looks exactly how it is meant to look (it's one of the default iOS 7 wallpapers).

Does anyone know why it's gone all blurry like this?

----------

Sorry, couldn't edit my post so had to rewrite.

My wife's lock screen on her iPhone 4 looks like this:

Image

However, on my iPhone 5, the same wallpaper on my lock screen looks like this :

Image

Doesn't make sense?! Why is mine all blurry like this?!

This must be a bug in iOS 7 because I have just turned my phone off and back on again and the wallpaper is displaying normally again ?!?!

Just to follow on from my post, my lockscreen is now back to normal.

However, I have noticed that whilst my lockscreen is perfectly normal (looks like the 2nd image in my post above), when my phone is locked and I don't have any notifications on it, when I do get a Notification on my lockscreen, the wallpaper behind goes back to being all blurry (like the third image in my post above)? Is this normal..?!

If I then clear the Notification from the lockscreen, and then lock the phone again - it goes back to being not blurry. Is this how the lockscreen wallpaper works with Notifications...?!

That's normal behavior with iOS 7. It helps you focus on the notification at hand.. I really like it.

I think the solution to the airplane mode access on the lookscreen is that Apple enable us to select what should Control Center show while on lockscreen, as well while unlocked.

Also, it would be nice it they add some more toggles and give us the option to choose.

In Calendar, when you are making an appointment, you can double-tap the time selector to switch between 1-minute increments and 5-minute increments.

Wow, that's pretty nice! How did you manage to figure that out?

I was rapidly flicking through the minutes, rapidly enough for it to think I doubled-tapped I guess, and voila!

I agree, it's pretty handy. :)

Not going to happen.

iOS 7 keyboard shift key color & capitals / upper & lower case typing issue not resol

Hi,

Colour is a big part of Ease of Use on the iPhone.

Wondering why the blue colour shift lock key on the pop up keyboard has been replaced with grey colour changes when in other apps like, Maps, Mail, Phone, Calculator, Clock, Photos, Camera, ....(almost all native apps) use colour to highlight certain functions?

The removal of the blue colour when activating upper case typing has now slowed my overall typing down, both in landscape & portrait modes, making me less efficient at work & at home.

The reason for this is that I use both thumbs for typing in landscape & I use both right & left thumbs for typing in portrait. While typing, my left hand is usually hovering over that area of the keyboard in both modes where the shift key is located.

In previous iOS I could easily & quickly identify with my peripheral vision if the shift button was on, (be it locked or not) without consciously looking at it because my brain made a subconscious note of the colour blue in the bottom left hand corner.

Now I have to pause, move my hand/thumb aside and concentrate (albeit for a split second) to check that the shift button is on. This is happening almost every Paragraph & most sentences that I type.

I also type an upper case letter or two and have to continuously backtrack to correct it on most occasions. This simple omission/change has slowed me right down, waisting my precious time & to a lesser extent, energy.

Like all upgrades, I give myself several weeks to see if I'll acclimatise to the new changes, and 99% of the time I do. This time however my brain can not adjust & I'm not getting any faster with out the colour shift key.

If Johnny Ives & the Apple Engineers could bring themselves to surreptitiously put back the colour into the shift key function, I would have no thoughts about considering Samsung & would be a satisfied Apple Fan again.

I would be very surprised if I'm the only customer who has noticed this change.

A suggestion for consideration for the Apple Design Engineers, if not change the keyboard to upper case as suggested by others in this thread, then at the very least put the colour back into the shift key and maybe a small shift key (color) icon on the high side of the iPhone & iPad screen so we don't have to make a conscious note when we're typing. Our eyes would be able to clearly see that the shift key is on & adjust subconsciously with out slowing us down.

Yours sincerely,

Apple Customer :(

Like all the fake videos on Youtube regarding iOS upgrade...

"Upgrading to iOS 7 will make your phone water-proof"
"iOS 8 will make it shatter-proof"

...umm.. Wonder what iOS 9 will bring....

Charge the batter almost instantly in the sun ??

Its a solar power iPhone.

Apple would never sell a phone again.

On the point of the caps, I would still like to have a "hold key for caps" option like they have on Blackberry. They have the alternate keys like ñ from holding, but no caps.

I just saw on the front page that 7.0.2 expired on 26th September. What does that mean then?

Not sure what you're talking about? There's nothing on the front page about this.

Are you sure it wasn't saying that iOS 7 beta 2 expired on September 26th? Betas expire, public release versions of iOS do not.
