And, above all .... IT'S A BETA!!!

It could totally wipe your device and all sorts of other things... why are people surprised of issues and bugs in a beta version?

This is a consolidated thread that is created every year. It's made to let people know if others are having the same problems, helps us identify patterns in bugs, and allows us to see if we can recreate the problems others are having to know what is most crucial and what Apple needs to work on most. Further, I'm sure Apple browses the forums so this is a great thread to have. What did you expect to find in a thread titled "Bugs and Problems"?

Kind of redundant and inconsistent

One thing I find interesting is that the double tap home button enables the quick music controls on the lock screen, when you could just use control center.

While on the home screen it doesn't provide quick music controls as in iOS 6 when you double tap and swipe to the left. You need to use control center for that.

It is also fairly frustrating because after you double tap the home button while on the lock screen to initiate quick music controls, the clock completely disappears and you have no real way of getting rid of the controls or telling the time except when you unlock, and lock again making the clock appear and the quick music controls disappear.

--also--

When you receive a notification while on the lock screen, the animation indicating you should sldie the screen from left to right to unlock is frozen until the screen goes to sleep and wakes back up. More of an attention to detail thing than a bug though..

This thread being created isn't a product of people's surprise of bugs in beta software but rather created to see the most common and crucial bugs that need to be forwarded to Apple so they know what they need to work on and fix.

Then we move on to beta 2. Then the cycle will begin again and another thread will be created for beta 2.

However I am aware that there are users on this forum that have higher expectations of a beta and are upset that things aren't working 100%. These users are not stupid but are probably just ignorant of how this process works. Best just to ignore them and focus on the topic of the thread.

Cheers.

I posted this before but I added a screenshot to the reminder app. I was told to just tap anywhere, and start typing your reminder. But no matter how many times I touch the screen in the reminder app, the keyboard won't even come up. So how do I add a reminder by typing?

I think my comment is out of context, as this was made on another thread that I think has been merged into this one

I'm fairly certain the reminders app is broken. I can get the keyboard to come up by tapping on the first line with both borders so I am not having your exact issues, but I cannot create a reminder either.

My issue is after I type my reminder out and click "done" the app instantly crashes.

I am on an iPhone 5 upgraded from iOS6

Was your comment in reply to someone else?

Because when I saw it on the thread it was just a regular post

Yes my comment was in reply to someone else. But I thought I'd put this in another thread. To see if anyone else could help me.

If you look at my original message you'll see that the second portion was not in reference to you, but in reference to MrGimper. Unfortunately if you post a message within a certain timeframe or directly one after the other the forum will automatically combine your messages

An interesting App-Related glitch, if you are playing Simposns Tapped Out on iOS7, then you will be randomly signed into strangers Origin's accounts.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but if I have a folder in my dock and try to take an app out of it my phone crashes/reboots.

If someone else can verify it happens on theirs as well that's probably one that should be submitted to Apple.

Sorry if it is wrong thread but i would like to ask who have iOS7. Does reply with message (after having call) also starts "Can't talk right now..." Because my language isn't supported and it is a bit stupid that i cant manage full context of quick reply, does at ios7 it is enhanced? Thx

Wow lol its a different story for every one. My music plays, my apps update but only when im on wifi, as far as lag calm down its the first beta of course there will be lag, never had random shut offs, my battery life is a little bit better then on ios 6.1.4, my notifications go away if i press clear, of course maps and multitasking are slow it's the first beta. I have an iphone 5, you should include what device you are on, I've seen lots of people complaining lag on their iphone 4, of course the 3 year old phone with single core processor is gonna lag on software thats comeing in fall or 2013.

Pull down till you get the search box, use the + icon to add a group. Web you are on that group, there will be lines. Touch one of those lines and the keyboard will pop up.

For anyone in the UK who use the HSBC Fast Balance app - it does not connect and shows a connection error message.

For anyone who doesn't like the default larger fonts in stock apps just turn this down.

Apples apps support this and I'm assuming more will soon to follow.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but what's with the horrible child-like animation when you've written a text and press send? Looks really naff how it 'jiggles' up to the conversation area

I was wondering about that too. I don't know if that's a flaw in an incomplete animation path, or it's meant to be cute. Several of the animations end in a kerchunk into the last position.

With such a pendulum swing away from what is often useful detail in the interface, under the threat that it could be considered a banished skeuomorphic feature, maybe now the bizarro flat-design world advocates bumpy animation in place of that horrible smooth motion, (and all that excessively legible type).

Haven't read through this whole thread so apologies.....

iTunes Match, FaceTime, Twitter log-in and iMessage are all broken for me. I'm going to do a reset tonight when I get home to see if that fixes anything as I know these services are working for others.

Probably just the inconsistency of the Beta, but figured I throw it out there.

I'm on an iPhone 4S by the way.

Also, has anyone else noticed the dynamic wallpaper being "stuck"? Sometimes when I wake my 4S, the wallpaper doesn't respond, however everything else is working perfectly. Then when I go into the wallpaper/brightness menu in settings, it shows my lockscreen wallpaper as being of a static stock wallpaper.

I've also noticed that the animation when opening an app, takes a bit to correctly center the app on the screen.

All-in-all, I love some of the new features, but am not crazy about the UI redesign. I keep thinking that the difference I feel has more to do with the 4S > 5 upgrade (the 5's on iOS 6) - that the screen is nice and colors are better on it in general, not just the color choices.....but I can't help shaking the feeling that I'm not that enthused about it.

Anyways, I'll keep plugging away with it - I've only been on it since last night (had to get my old 4S from a family member who was holding it as a backup) so hopefully time (and newer betas) will help ease me into the changes.

Cheers!

Anyone have the airdrop issue???Anyone else have airdrop glitch everytime i hit sleep button it pops up saying new airdrop photo its so annoying!
Quote Edit

I'm also having this problem! It's so annoying. But lets not forget it's the first beta so maybe the second one will fix some bugs
