Why do Android users post here? Are there no Android boards where Android users can share their enthusiasm with other Android users?
Because many Android phone users also own Macintosh hardware. The two are not mutually exclusive, and most folks are not tied to 'brand' loyalty. They can enjoy a variety of hardware and software from various vendors.
I've been here 8 years on this forum, I have in that time had every single iPhone, iPad, iPod and have bought aprox 20 different macintosh computers in the space of that time.
Does that mean I can not utilise an Android handset also ?
Seriously with a sweeping comment like that it appears that you have a very narrow minded vision of an apple / android user.
You also have the freewill of not accessing this 'sub forum' for 'alternatives to ios devices' if it offends you so much.

Yeah, and if Android was really truly "open source" then anyone could download 4.2.2 or 4.3 and install it on their phone. Without rooting, of course. I laughed when I read that HTC wasn't going to update a one year old phone to 4.2.2. Now that's an advanced operating system, so advanced that you won't be able to update a one year old phone.
One manufacturers choice not to advance the software on a 15 month old mid-range phone any higher than it currently stands at 4.1 is irrelevant to this thread and is not indicative of Android and all the various vendors manufacturers.
Again a selective choice of circumstance / instance to make a sweeping generalised statement on the whole is rather silly.
