iOS 9.1 has been released to the public. It has a build number of Build 13B143.

Please report bugs to bugreport.apple.com

Changes:

- Live Photos now intelligently senses when you raise or lower your iPhone, so that Live Photos will automatically not record these movements.
- Over 150 new emoji characters with full support for Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 emojis.
- Performance improvements / Improved performance while in Multitasking UI.
- News App now available for UK and Australian users.
- Contact photos in Messages can now be turned Off or On in "Settings" for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
- New wallpapers, including Jupiter from the iPad Pro.
- Improved stability including CarPlay, Music, Photos, Safari, and Search.

Bug fixes:

- In the App Switcher, the Messages App now displays correctly.
- In the App Switcher, the Mail App now displays correctly.
- Quick Reply from the Lockscreen no longer leaves a black keyboard outline.
- Proactive status bar overlay is fixed.
- Resolves an issue that zoomed the content of some apps.
- "Open in" button when opening files in Safari is back.
- Keyboard preview of the pressed key is no longer transparent using "Reduced Transparency"
- Fixes an issue that could cause Calendar to become unresponsive in Month view.
- Fixes an issue that prevented Game Center from launching for some users.
- Resolves an issue that could cause an incorrect unread mail count for POP mail accounts.
- Fixes an issue that prevented users from removing recent contacts from new mail or messages.
- Fixes an issue that caused some messages to not appear in Mail search results.
- Resolves an issue that left a gray bar in the body of an Audio Message.
- Fixes an issue that caused activation errors on some carriers.
- Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from updating from the App Store

Bugs:

- Settings.app will open past Airplane mode.
- Settings app preview window still blank via multitasking.
- Control Center is still stuttering at the very end.
- Notification Center still displays emails that won't clear upon pressing "Clear". Need to reboot phone to clear the notification.
- Notification Center still displays all notification post clicking on one to open and read.
- Opening emails in the Mail app from a push notification and deleting them will frequently not go to the next email. The deleted email will continue to display.
- Messages: Animation missing when tapping on Edit and then Cancel (the messages will just pop back)

I got the OTA over the air now and I still have my iOS 9 public beta profile. So I'm unsure if we're off the program.

On a 6+: Everything is smoother than on beta5, even though not completely buttery. Bring on 9.2 for perfection! :)

On iPad Air: definately better than beta5. App switcher is around 30fps instead of 20fps.

iOS 9.1 is slower than beta 5 on my iPhone 6s.

I'll give it a day or so and see if it speeds up. I also always make sure to drain the battery to 0% and then charge it fully before making any battery judgements.
