I would have thought so, yes. I close down all but the three apps I use frequently, thus hoping that they stay in memory. I don't want a ton of other apps forcing them out.How about saving memory when apps are closed - does it save memory?

Could you record a 60fps video of those behaviours, since you have same devices and 8.4 ?I can tell for experience, I have two identical devices (iPhone 6 Plus), one running iOS 8.4 and the other 9.1. The one running the 8.4 is much snappier. The 9.1 stutters on app switcher. Disabling the transparency definitively reduces the lag and stutterer.
I have background refresh completely disabled and some apps still run in the background.I think there's different approaches here. For the apps that are consuming battery on the background, we could disable background activity, this should prevent them to use battery by refreshing regularly, then we could leave them open (not forcing quitting) so they will remain in the memory and not spent battery by reopening and starting everything from the app again...
Slomo video is better .Could you record a 60fps video of those behaviours, since you have same devices and 8.4 ?
the way ios works i dont think you can save memory per say but not 100% sureHow about saving memory when apps are closed - does it save memory?
I'll guess that the 5 is on the left, but not because of the performance but because of the yellow-edged, pink-centered, decaying, flawed screens that also affected my iPhone 5.
Which one is the 5 and which one the 5s? Guess.
Awful indeed. I got used to it so I stopped noticing.I'll guess that the 5 is on the left, but not because of the performance but because of the yellow-edged, pink-centered, decaying, flawed screens that also affected my iPhone 5.
I also share your view since for the most part my Air2 is working pretty well with one exception which is degraded battery life on iOS 9.1. With some luck crossing my fingers the next update will address this.I must say, I must be very lucky to not have this iPad Air 2 lag with the app switcher. I'm only suffering worse battery life on my 6s (noted above) and my Air 2 as well. But I would trade worse battery life for no lag any day of the week.
I've never been a "battery complainer" but the release version of 9.1 sucks my iP6 dry pretty quick. 5Hr 19Min @ 5%. The 9.1 betas were much better for me.
There's no option to disable background activity. You can disable background refresh, but that is just one aspect of it.I think there's different approaches here. What exactly is saving memory? Memeory is there to be used. Free memory is basically an available resource that isn't being utilized. How about saving memory when apps are closed - does it save memory?
The huge frame drops mostly occur when I exit an app to the home screen.I stopped using quick reply altogether because it makes for a big eye sore. Now I just tap on it and answer through the appMy iPhone 6 is dropping an insane amount of frames when scrolling through home screen pages. And quick reply is ****ing impossible to use without the urge to throw my phone at the wall. I get more pissed off every time my phone drops a frame or I see significant lag.
YEah, but that hits every device, not only older ones. It only becomes noticeable beacause of its modest 512MB RAM.When updating multiple apps (more than 10), iPad mini will become super laggy when running apps. Only the system is running good, but not great.
Happens for me at times.A hard reset sorts it out.No solution for the horrible stutters thoughIs this a bug? My 6 64GB thinks is in low power mode. If you unlock it, and let it sit for 20 seconds, the screen dims like in low power mode. Is all stuttering everywhere, is really frustrating. I turned low power on, waited a couple minutes and off again, and it was better. But I locked it and unlocked it again, and was again behaving like low power is on.
Any ideas?
Good to know is not just me.Happens for me at times.A hard reset sorts it out.No solution for the horrible stutters though
Everything is much happier on iPhone 6s?I have a 6s Plus. I have noticed a huge battery life improvement with 9.1. The performance also seems amazing.
I've owned every iPhone and used every version of iOS. This is by far the best battery life that I have experience... And I'm even allowing Facebook to track my location always.
Oh yeah I also have a Apple Watch connected... i'm also getting about two days from my Apple Watch now...
You may have had a compromised installation and updating iOS addressed this. There are (too) many variables to iPhone battery life.I have a 6s Plus. I have noticed a huge battery life improvement with 9.1. The performance also seems amazing.
