Does anyone have a guestimate as to when iOS 9.1 will be released to the general public? I'm running 9.1 Public Beta and too lazy to downgrade to 9.0 Public Release.

Do the following:

1. Remove the Beta profile for 9.1
2. Restart the phone
3. Download the 9.0 IPSW file
4. Shift/option update from iTunes and point to the iPSW

Yes, I know that sounds counter intuitive but I just did that from 9.1 PB1 > 9.0 without having to restore anything.

Why did you downgrade? Is the 9.0 working better than the 9.1pb? Previous reports stated otherwise but the release version is different than the gm. Is there a compelling reason to go back?

the iOS 9 that was released today is not the same build as 9.0 GM. Going on a hunch I installed it and was pleasantly surprised that it was as smooth as 8.4.1 for me. Of course people will swear up and down how bad iOS 9 is but I'm content with it for sure. iPhone 6+

Hmm interesting indeed. Most 6+ users are who were more impressed with 9.1. I realize today's build is newer than the GM so partially why I asked. I have the regular 6. May try the released ver tomorrow for Grins.

Don't get me wrong I was already on 9.1. It's just when i heard the public release was newer than GM I figured I'd give it a shot and not have to deal with beta profiles and such and it works great.

This week? Where did you hear that from? I had just received my iPhone 6S Plus and my iPhone 6 is running 9.1 Beta 5 so I reckon I'm going to have to downgrade to 9.0.2 so that the phone backup can be restored to my new 6S Plus. But if 9.1 does get released this week I'll just wait and update my 6S+ to that rather than the other way around.

It should most likely be this week. If history is any indication, tmr will be the day.

Cross your fingers guys!

I can only hope you guys are right. Fingers crossed I get to update my new phone and finally sync it with my iPhone 6 backup... in 5 hours time.

You can make a backup using iTunes and edit the Manifest.plist file to change the OS version to 9.0.2. That will work.
