iOS 9.2.1 Beta Bug Fixes, Changes and Performance Improvements

Changes

Bug Fixes:

• Mobile signature input screen is now available when your phone is locked. Previously, if you forgot to unlock your phone before the popup with PIN request field appeared you had to cancel the whole action and do it again.

Bugs/Issues (All bugs/issues in iOS 9.2.1 build 13D11 tested, not fixed)

• App-Store badge on iOS device not clearing (You has app update in App-Store from iOS device, but download on iTunes the updates and sync to iOS device, mostly App-Store badge on iOS device not clearing)
  
• iOS stock video player and QuickTime from OSX. No sound with this mp4 file. (http://1drv.ms/1mosUsM)
• Go to App-Store Updates. You has update from app with long version number, in this case has Chrome app long version number 47.0.2526.107. But does not show the update size. Better here automatically add fourth line.
• iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot issue, not full Wi-Fi bar when new device connect to iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot, in this case Samsung Galaxy S5/S6, result Wi-Fi is broken/unstable/bad ping, because here are many Wi-Fi networks with channel 1-5, iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot always use channel 1. In this case 2,4 GHZ channel 6, Frequency 2437 MHz is good (That problem, iOS has not option, automatically or manually switch to other channel)
• iOS mail app issue, emails arriving from hotmail.com do not show attachments of any kind
• iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot automatically off (Create iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot, 2 or more devices connect with this hotspot, in this case Windows PC and Samsung Galaxy S6, the devices are more than 5 hours connected to the hotspot, mostly hotspot automatically off)
• Select manually issue (Open settings, go to iTunes & App Store, tap on Sign In, it comes window, copy e.g this text lenght in this window Hello Macrumors User Apple OSX ARM123, now use select from left to right, want only this select Hello Macrumors User Apple OSX ARM) !Not possible!
• The suggestions window in App-Store is moved (Open App-Store Featured, in search bar just type term, hide iOS keybord, in tab bar, tap Top Charts, wait view has finished loading, tap the search bar once, mostly the suggestions window is moved or it comes white view complete)
• Apple ID create in App-Store without credit card not possible (For new user or user have not credit card is that a problem) This issue worldwide in all App-Store (Open App-Store, go to Featured, tap on Sign In and create Apple ID account now) !Without credit card not possible! So is better:
• The typical button animation is missing (Go to App-Store, create Apple ID, then see the 2 buttons by Subscribe, use on the buttons on/off, the typical button animation is missing)
• iOS shows incorrect size, visual error only (Add to OSX and iOS files e.g with 200mb size, see the details, iOS shows incorrect size)
• Direct to App-Store view the app is missing, iPad only (Go to App-Store updates, there are app update, tap on app icon, direct app store view the app not possible) !On iPhone no problem!
• Little animation switches to blue AirDrop icon (AirDrop is disabled. Open Safari, tap on share button, for 1 second blue AirDrop icon) !This is wrong!
• iOS select, copy text issue
• 3D Touch animation lag in landscape mode (Use 6s Plus, activate in Spotlight search: Siri Suggestions, go in landscape mode, use 3D touch on a app, it comes animation lag)
• iOS other bugs
• iOS autolock issue (use Touch ID, go to iOS homescreen, autolock at 1 minute and it instead locks after 30 seconds)
• Animation in messages missing when tapping on Edit and then Cancel (the messages will just pop back).
  
• Saving any website to Notes app with safari Notes share button results duplicated note when searching for it with spotlight. View attachment 605881
  
• In Safari a black rectangle appears during fade out animation when you're in landscape favorite bookmarks view and tap outer area in order to close it.
  
• iOS personal hotspot blue window for little moment (create wifi hotspot, new device connect to wifi hotspot, open settings, go to multitasking, open again settings, you can see for little moment blue view complete)
• If an iPhone in landscape mode (sleep/wake button facing upwards) with keyboad on screen is turned for 180 degrees to alternative landscape mode, keyboard rotating animation executes in an opposite direction than other UI elements.
• Dark keyboard flashes when changing capitalization.
• Volume indicator is not displayed when an iPad has been locked and unlocked with a Smart Cover/Case
• Workaround: Use the sleep/wake button to turn on/off the display
• When the "Reduce Transparency" option is turned on, typing on a light theme keyboard does not show the letter key has been tapped.
• New devices cannot connect to iOS Wi-Fi personal hotspot after the Settings app has been closed (this issue since iOS Wi-Fi hotspot exists, more details see here)
• Settings app preview turns blank in app switcher after using another app for 10 mins. View attachment 604712
  
• Adding Pages, Number, or Keynote files as attachments in Mail does not work, but other file types work fine
• POP email issue
• False mode (iPad/iOS use always the landscape mode, Orientation Lock: On, change the iPad Language via Settings, wait and in this moment Settings in portrait mode) !This is wrong!
  
• App-Store (Topcharts free apps) the apps rank number 150 missing View attachment 605019 View attachment 605020
• Blue filter options missing in the App Store (Tab bar in App-Store go to Purchased or Updates and search once) View attachment 604472 Should look like View attachment 604473
• Have wifi as 2.4ghz / 5ghz as separate id's. Having difficulty staying on 5ghz. Keeps dropping it and switching to the 2.4.
  
• iPad Mini 3 - When I use the switch to go from Ringer to Silent, it will at times rapidly flicker back and forth between Ringer - Silent (popup message)
• When switching from Silent to Ringer, it will display a Ringer volume level that does not match actual
  
• The bottom of the keyboard is cut off on the 6S+/6+ when you type in a search parameter in the App Store

You don't need to do a full backup and restore to update iOS with iTunes. Well, a backup is recommended but you don't even have to do that.

Just hold down option while clicking "Check for update" and specify the ipsw file. It will upgrade iOS and keep your data intact.

There's no OTA for Beta 1. Only public beta, if the beta profile is installed. Maybe tomorrow then... IMZDL used to provide downloads for betas on the same day, but it seems they're out of business.

That was quick hopefully being sarcastic. God knows how people can tell battery is improved the same day the update. Maybe roughly 2 days usage should give you proper idea. As then you have used it in real world terms and how you would normally use your phone.

Correct, which is why I said give people time. Its not a 3 min button on the phone. People need their itunes etc so it wont be minutes with results from many people.

Good catch on IMZDL, that was sudden. Glad I didnt buy anything from them recently (old iphone had a dev account with them).

Then what does it matter if you cannot even use it no matter what the results?

When the results are out they will be; there is no OTA update from Settings this time. You have to hook to itunes to update, so this will slow the results of many people who usually hit the "update" on the phone and have it in 5 min and flood here to report the bugs/changes.

Asking minutes later is WAY premature. It's been over an hour and it seems only 2 or 3 people are commenting at all that they installed it so far.

Actually, there is a way to tell if battery has improved the same day you installed the update. If you keep track of previous updates and how the battery was impacted right after the update, you can make comparisons. For example, after installing 9.2B4 over 9.2B3, there was a massive battery increase on my devices. There was a lot less background activity going on (watching the CPU) immediately following the install.

10 minutes no. 3-4 hours yes. My method takes about 3 hours to compare. But I'm really crazy when it comes to this stuff lol.

I like to use for a few days to get a full picture as my usage can change day to day. As my little boy will sometimes want to watch things on my device where as I don't so for me a good 2 days gives me a good picture.
