That's not an isolated incident. The software appears to struggle to render multiple layers for whatever reason. The same frame drops happen if you are in the Amazon app with the 'shop by department' list open and navigate to home screen via app switcher.
True...there are also many stutters when you use the system and is playing in PIP.
I'm not sure I can understand why. This thing has the same power as a 2012 MBA. And it seems to be "on the edge" of what it can do.

That's weird, ever since b2 for me the app switcher has been slower than usual. No matter how hard I scroll to the side it's set so that apps switch over one by one and it doesn't scroll fast at all anymore???
It doesn't look great when it goes that fast. The fluidity is gone and it just jumps to between cards. Hopefully Apple will bring back the old switcher animation before official release.

Exactly and that's the reason I got the 128GB Air 2.Reviewers were claiming it was too powerful and it was until iOS 9.This thing handled 8.4.1 without breaking a sweat and now it seems to struggle

It doesn't make sense that you are on beta 3 but you're app switcher is still really fast and I'm also on beta 3 and mine is really slow and very fluid...??

It depends on the way you swipe. I noticed different results on my iPhone too.

Try scrolling back to the homescreen. It's weird.

They didn't even fix a minor bug that on Air 2 when you open the App Store and the wish list in it and then switch to homescreen through app switcher there is terrible lag

Do you hear yourself? Does that honestly detract from the experience on a day to day basis? How often do you do that series of "tasks"?

The main lag has been fixed, the lag that is seen when going in and out of apps, using the App Switcher, etc. I'm sorry but a little lag when opening a wish list in the App Store, opening the App Switcher, then using said App Switcher to go back to the home screen is not even up there with what can be considered a priority.

You are putting together strings of somewhat odd inputs to almost try and trip the device up. I open an app, I use the app, I pinch to home, then open another app. That's normal day to day use, and when doing so iOS 9.2 is smooth and fluid on my 6 and Air 2.

At this point I'd say we're best agreeing to disagree and taking no further part in his back and forth debate because we are clearly looking at things from different perspectives. I'd say that's best for the thread moving forward, yes?

It happens for any app with multiple layers. Amazon app with the menu list open for example.

I've reported it to Apple.

If enough people report it, then perhaps but my argument is that why would you exit any app to the home screen via the App Switcher? Surely you'd just pinch to home or press the home button?

No change here on air 2 with beta 3. Plenty of stutter when scrolling this thread with split keyboard open. Also when going from portrait to landscape with split keyboard open. Doesn't feel anywhere close the smoothness to what my air 2 was the day I got it.

"Ignore minor things". You wish, it's not 200€ phone where it would be acceptable. Everything should be perfect, like it used be before.

It wasn't "perfect" before.

You could easily create lag on iOS 8 doing the exact same thing and stringing a set of inputs together in a manner that's not equal to day to day use in order to trip up the UI.

Well, yes it is.

It wasn't happening before.

It is now.

And this "little lag here and there" has the same roots then stuttering in CC and everywhere else. Metal.

So we can agree that all you Apple apologists can continue to use your smooth devices and shell money for upgrades every year, while we who don't like to be cheated will bug Apple for it.

Normal use case?LOL

Unless your interaction with the OS is limited to just pressing home button and drawing down the usual things, there is lag in many spots and I am telling you this lag was NOT there on 8.4.1.I am a power user who has installed custom roms in Android, jail broken ios and many other things and for $600+ hardware I demand perfection just like how Windows laptops are

After updating to iOS 9.2 Beta 3, and this seems to happen every time there is any kind of update, there are suddenly duplicates of some photos in Apple Photos. Not only on the phone or iPad Air 2, but throughout the application. I've never understood why this happens, and I've scoured the Internet trying looking for an answer. Any ideas? This creates a mistrust of relying on Apple Photos for my primary photo app, and spending more time curating Google Photos or Flickr.

LOL was thinking the same thing. Short answer: to find something to complain about. Same as "flip up and down notifications 4 times really fast, then stop 1/2 way through then hit home button 3 times and press the vol button up and down 2 times and it will re-spring sometimes. Dang it apple fix this please!"
This post should be sticky in this forum.

Anyone else got this bug

iOS 9 won't feel as fast or fluid as previous versions until they let me tap an app icon mid animation on the home screen after closing an app. You still have to wait till an animation finishes 100% till the screen will respond to your touch. It's the very first thing I noticed when upgrading to iOS 9 and still my number 1 annoyance that makes things feel clunky and slow. Why they won't change this back I just don't know. It's a step backward and makes the phone feel clunky.

Holy ****.I just tried opening Control centre in Siri and it was god awful.Ran at 10 fps by the looks of it

I notice spacing changes to San Francisco, individual characters look rounder and a slightly more spaced out. Opens the UI up everywhere, I like it.

I've got a pretty serious bug on 6S Plus...

I noticed my phone gets warm sometimes, with no use. The only app I have enabled background sync is Whatsapp. I don't even have Face Time or iMessage enabled. iCloud photos is disabled, as well as iCloud Drive. Find my iPhone is enabled and that's all. Not even any kind of push is enabled. Though I found that Documents & Sync under mobile data usage in System Services is using tons of data whilst on standby. This is consuming my mobile data plan and I don't know what is causing that, but it only happens on 9.2 (beta 2 and 3).

First I thought that could be the backup restoration I did from my 6 Plus, so I erased my 6S Plus and restarted clean. Still, the problem persists after some hours. Actually I tested this on 2 different 6S Plus and I have the same problem. WiFi assist is off.

I also thought it could be Siri, but "Hey Siri" is off.

I'm going back to 9.1 and I'll stay there until I'm sure this is fixed.

If you find anything unusual with your 6S on 9.2, keep an eye on mobile data usage on System Services/Documents & Sync. If you're using WiFi, you won't notice. Please, report this bug to Apple as it can quickly become critical for many users.
