Because trackpad in the keyboard was not a bug either and it is not present today, that's why.
Well, technically speaking it was a bug since it wasn't meant to be there for iPhones and was thus removed in later versions. It's not a bug in the sense that something wasn't working right, but it's a bug in a sense that a feature that shouldn't be there was there.

Now, this could be a similar type of bug, or this could be a bug that something wasn't working right--just because there's one example of something (like that keyboard trackpad feature) doesn't mean that it proves or disproves something about something else, they are mutual exclusive events. So you can certainly say that it might not have been a bug in the sense that something was broken, but you can't use that rule that out.

Anyone else think this is the last beta of iOS 9? There were only 5 betas for iOS 8 with the 6th only going to carrier partners for testing.

Has this last beta broken handoff/continuity/instant hotspot for anyone else? It was working yesterday before I upgraded my iPhone 6 and iPad air, and now it won't work for either of them to my MacBook (Retina). It works between the two, (iPad -> iPhone or iPhone -> iPad) but not to/from MacBook.

No. I think there will be another in two weeks during the week of August 17th and then that leaves 3 weeks till the GM on the 9th (the rumored event date).

I haven't had any problems with the betas until today. My cellular data status has been stuck on "Searching..." for several hours now. It was fine this morning, and then, it changed around 2:00 today. I've turned my phone on and off, I've toggled Cellular Data on and off, toggled Airplane Mode on and off, and I've reset my Network Settings. And still, nothing!

If I were to "Erase All Content and Settings" under Reset, will that restore me to the latest iOS 9 Beta or back to 8.4? That way I could restore to an iCloud Backup of iOS 9.

By the way, I'm on AT&T on an iPhone 6 Plus. I've never had problems with the cell service around my area.

That will just wipe your entire phone and bring you to the set up screen. You can't restore to 8.4 unless you use iTunes.

Restoring the backup afterwards could bring the problem back again canceling out the wipe you just did.

So, will it bring me back to the set up screen for iOS 9?

TLDR.

This latest (public) beta is draining my battery like crazy. I did not have any problem with the battery when running the two previous PB. I would unplug my 5S at 7.00, and not plug it back in for charging until 23.00 or midnight, and still have battery. Today I unplugged it at around 14.00. It's now 19.14, and there's only 25% left…

And the device is warmer. I never felt the device temperature before, unless I was charging it, but now I do.

Not sure of this is an existing bug, but it is really annoying. Wallpaper goes to Landscape and then doesn't go back to portrait until I lock and unlock my phone

iOS 8 beta 5, the last developer beta, was released August 4.
iPhone 6 was announced September 9.
iOS 8 was released September 17
iPhone 6 was released September 19.

So if last year is anything to go by, and if the September 9 announcement rumours are true, this may well be the last beta.

Certainly doesn't rule out one more beta, but one more is probably the most we can hope for.

We'll see!

Whenever I try to edit the "Friends" section in the Apple Watch app, the phone throws me into a boot that says "Slide to Upgrade". Sliding doesn't do anything and I have to hard reboot the device. Can anyone else confirm this issue?

I know it might be entirely my carrier's IPCC but in beta 5,
it often jumps to No Service when switching towers etc..

Anyone else have this bug? Safari icon is blank. Happened with some other apps as well
I had that bug in DP 4 but it was actually fixed for me this DP

Also on a slightly more unrelated note why is your version of San Francisco so bold?

This beta actually restored handoff for my iPhone, which was noticeably absent when I updated to the previous beta.

Agreed even if they have a non regular cycle.

It still needs some fine tuning to it.
Seems like they don't have much more to do with features.

I also hope they will take a decision between Siri Suggestions and Search.
It's just silly to have search access from sliding down, and/or right from the home screen !

If Apple continues the 2 week pattern, there is time for beta 6 and then the GM, so... 2 more ios builds to go and I doubt that it will get better or even as good as ios 8.

I'm going to try a clean install without restoring and without 3rd party apps to test performance. With one month to go this just doesn't feel good enough.
