I'm a bit surprised at how slow some of the major tweak devs are at responding to iOS 9. There are several show stoppers preventing me from upgrading from 8.4 and I'm likely to miss the signing window for 9.0.2 at this rate.

??????

You can't jailbreak and wait for tweaks to be updated and then install them? You have to remain stock until a dev updates a tweak and only then can you jailbreak?

I don't understand that. Because if you jailbreak and install NOTHING your phone goes on as if nothing had happened. It's not broken because you have not installed any tweaks.

SMH.

Sorry, don't mean to sound condescending, but what reason is preventing you from jailbreaking only until the devs update your tweaks?

activator (probably the rocket boot thing actually) not playing well with my 5s... crashes constantly (solved by respring) and the touch id is not working (ignores the touches). it worked on the 1.9.6-beta...

anyone else? might be another tweak not playing ball.

Nothing preventing me other than myself. I have to have TetherMe and 3GUnrestrictor. And I really want to have IntelliscreenX. I can live without the latter but not the former. Therefore I wait.

I'm not having any issues with Activator 1.9.6. I did, but uninstalling the f.lux flipswitch removed any problems along with any problems I had with FlipControlCenter.

If you have not already added r.petrich's repo, you might. Perhaps I'm not having issues because I'm getting stuff direct instead of through the normal Cydia sources. Just guessing here.

Well, that's your choice then. I jailbroke the first day and had minimal tweaks. As devs update, I slowly re-install.

But no way in hell am I missing any jailbreak window because the majority of my 60-80+ tweaks are not all updated.

I'm heavily considering updating to 9.0.2. I'll lose Push for Gmail but that's the biggest one I'm worried about. I dislike the Gmail App but might just have to suck it up. Hard to wait for emails every 15 minutes when you're using it for work. Also heavily disappointed Display Out wasn't even updated for 8.4. I miss watching NFL Redzone on my tv every Sunday from my phone!

Yes, indeed! I kept using my old iPhone 4 with a badly shattered screen for 3 months, waiting for the iPhone 5 to be jailbroken before upgrading. And I've been on 7.1.2 for quite a while waiting for a reasonable BiteSMS replacement. At this point I've pretty much given up on that, and will be upgrading to an iPhone 6s in the near future. But not until IOS 9.1 is jailbroken and there are certain must-have tweaks updated. ;-)

Not to devalue your experience, but I'd consider those to be less common cases - especially in light of the window (opportunity) being right now. I'd also think that if you are jailbroken at the moment and things work - why upgrade?

But perhaps I am just coming from my own point of view. I don't see a point sitting stock if a jailbreak is available. Even if it means having to wait (jailbroken) for your tweaks to be updated. I also don't see a point in updating/upgrading if I'm jailbroken on a previous version of iOS.

If I was still using my iPhone 5 and had managed to in some way keep it on iOS 6.1 I'd never have moved. I only jailbroke for iOS 7, 8 and 9 because my devices were running those versions and not because I wanted those versions of iOS.

I've been scouring my local craigslist for an iPhone 5 running iOS 6. No luck whatsoever. I'd like to have it as a backup to tinker and admire the old OS.

Love my 6s but I'll always have a soft spot for the slate 5.

Unfortunately, I am on my third iPhone 5. The first was replaced for a bad mic. The second had a swelling battery. I was lucky to get iOS 6 with the first replacement, but the second had me crying because it was 7.1.2. There went all my carefully constructed work on my iOS 6 jailbreak.

That phone went to iOS 8 because we wanted to get off Sprint and were testing to see if it was unlocked or not (it wasn't). That required an upgrade/restore. Further elements of my past jailbreak were lost. By the time the iOS 8 jailbreak hit I was already on a 6+.

Now my 5 is on 9.0.2 because I had expected to trade it in to T-Mobile when we ported out. Turns out they don't take the 5 anymore.

But the greatest crime here was taking my wife's Silver/White iPhone 5, jailbroken on iOS 6.0.3 and restoring it to 9.0.2 in anticipation of turning it in - only to find out they wouldn't take it!

That last one hurt!

PS. My own iPhone 5 is the Black/Slate version. Both my wife's 5 and mine are the 64GB models. :D

They really need to get gridswitcher and preference organizer 2 working . Maybe an updated jelly lock

Is there a tweak to hids app labels and the dock shadow. Usually use Hideme or Springtomize but getting the 'not supported' message.

HideMe8 (iOS8) works it's just not official yet for iOS9.

Just installed it and as soon as I hit enable my phone is booted into safe mode.

And if I enable anything at all I'm once again booted into safe mode

Try the lite version. If it fails you have another tweak that is causing a problem. Both versions work for me on my 6. But technically I'm running HideMe8lite without any problems.

Will do.

All I have installed is CCSettings. Cloaky (I uninstalled this to try it but it made no difference). Folder Enhancer and iCleaner.

Edit to add hide me lite worked perfectly!

When you delete a tweak, you should go into iCleaner preferences (+ button in the bottom left) and delete the cached files of the removed tweak if they are in there, then run iCleaner.
