if you have an iPhone 5S, never upgrade to iOS 9, it's not what you are waiting for.

Why you shouldn't upgrade ?
New features are junk
Phone heating up +45 degree Celcius
It's nearly the same as iOS 8

The flash didn't want to work as the phone heated up

How can you say that? You must have used a beta version. That indicates nothing about how iOS 9 will be once it is finally released. More so, it may have some performance issues after its official 9.0 version that can be fixed as the software is polished, just like iOS 8 demonstrated.

Do this assessment within a year, but not now.

And what about those who aren't having any of those issues?

False information. You have no idea what the final version of iOS 9 will be. Also the new features are junk thing is subjective. I'd put my money on the final version of iOS 9 running well on the 5S.. The 6 doesn't really have that much more power than the 5S.

Yes the beta is choppy, but that's not a reason to go against it.

I'd wait until final release then make judgment, these will get better of time!

What a terrible post. My 6 works with none of those issues under the latest beta. New features are junk? If that's true, then nobody should ever upgrade any of their phones to iOS 9.

Also, unless by some miracle you have a deLorean and are running the final release, refrain from posting your thoughts to us on BETA SOFTWARE. Go complain to Apple.

I've been using the iOS 9 beta on my iPhone 5s the whole time, only beta 1 had significant issues which were sometimes not connecting to cellular network and battery draining. Since beta 2 the only issue I've had has been occasional app crashes.

Thanks for creating a new account and starting a new thread just to make this one post! Next time just post in the "iOS 9 sux" thread.

OH MY GOD ITS A BETA APPLE ALWAYS FIXES THOSE THINGS IN TIME FOR RELEASE

oh wait, no they don't. They haven't actually released finished software since 2009.

Even if that were true, that wouldn't mean anything for the next version.

Mine works fine. You should probably leave the entire iPhone and Mac community. Its NOT for you. And you know, there are some really great articles out there that explain what a BETA is.

Dear Apple,

Please make installing BETA software such a difficult task so that people who do not know a damn thing don't go telling all their friends how a new IOS that isn't even publicly released is "terrible".

Not to be rude, but i think history is helping him more than it helps you.

To all of you:

Of the beta of the 5S i know nothing, but let's be clear on a few things:

1. A fourth or fifth beta is pretty much close the "cake" wer'e going to receive on the final build.
2. The final build isn't anything build from scratch.

Suddenly a lot of people seems to think that the GM will be "a magical build that has nothing to do with the betas and will fix everything", but that's not true, so let's face it...That's the reason 9.1 will exist.

I have the same issues with my 5S. The problem occurred since beta 4. Already did a full reinstall of beta 4, same problem. Very high cpu usage is causing the heat problems. It seems something is looping. A restart helps for a while. I hope beta 5 fixes the problem.

I had the problem on Beta 2 on my 6+. Went away after a while and havent seen it since.

I recall someone posting that icloud was the culprit and that turning off iCloud backup fixed it for them.

We're likely still a month and a half away from the GM release. GM's don't ship on disks anymore. You can do a lot of real work on betas in a month and a half.

Well it's true...for the most part. The GM tends to fix 90% of the issues...and it has to because it's going to be used by the public.

Here is the sad timeline to all this:

- Apple releases iOS 9 Beta
- Users rush to install the Beta
- Users complain about how the Beta performs and is buggy like..you know..a Beta.
- Apple releases additional Betas.
- Apple releases final iOS 9 to the public
- Users complain about how the iOS 9 public release is not polished or finished.
- As Apple finally polishes iOS 9 the iOS 10 Beta begins.
- process starts over

It's not a non-stop cycle of users never being happy with iOS because they won't stay AWAY from the Beta versions.

The development of the OS isn't going to end a day before launch so it can immediatly be "shipped"...That's not how it works.
