Hey guys I can see a lot of people on this forum complaining about iOS 9.x is lag, sluggishness battery etc. Are you considering android? The nexus 6p is winning phone of the year etc. It's making me jealous!

OP, these iOS 9 "problems" are being overblown a tad. No device I've had in iOS 9 has been unusable or frustrating to use to the point of feeling like throwing it away. They've all run smooth right down to the 4s

Android will always have more lag and stutter than iOS imo

not true. marshmellow is crazy fast and fluid especially on the phones that ran it out of the box.

The only problem with iOS 9 is the random stutter on most devices. That resembles like the similar kind of stutter on Android Eclaír.

The input delay where iOS waits 1-2 seconds after animation completes before it starts accepting user input also gives it sluggish feeling.

Previously in iOS 6 and below, we were allowed to open apps midway of transition animation. That gave the illusion of speed even though the hardware was considerably slower.

Lollipop and Marshmallow stutter too but only if the hardware is underpowered. But on S808 and S810, it is flawless

My wife (only one in family not on iPhone) just got a Galaxy 6 with latest software, etc. My 6s is much faster, long battery life, easier to use etc. than her phone. I think she regrets as I would. iPhone is much, much better
I doubt that the 6s is much faster than the S6. I own one as well and it is a blazing fast phone. Still the fastest Android phone available until the new chipsets come out. Battery life is decent but could be better. My wife gets about 4 to 4.5 hours of SoT every day and when she plugs in at night she has about 15% left.

I wouldn't say I'd "never" switch like the option I selected in the poll but I'm having a relatively pleasant experience with iOS 9. There is certainly room for improvement but I doubt Android is 100% flawless either....or any piece of software for that matter.

When Linus Sebastian (notoriously hates on Apple) gives the iPhone 6S a better review than the Nexus 6p I'm fairly confident I wouldn't be happy with it.

Yeah, I'm going to switch to Android next year when my contract for my 6 is up. Gonna upgrade to the newest Nexus phone because I'm learning Android App Development.

The Nexus 6P in its current state runs circles around the iPhone 6 I have on iOS 9.60 FPS animations and not a hint of stutter on it.I may switch to it or the Galaxy S7 unless Apple fixes my performance issues.Android is smoother than iOS 9 in its current iteration
I guess for someone that basically only or mainly uses their device to look at animations and that's basically it, that might make sense.

They're both good. Seriously, people look way too much into the minutae of these devices that essentially perform the same functions at the end of the day.

iOS 9 "problems" and issues are overblown, as are statements about how "terrible" Android is

There are those who will genuinely experience a bug and those suck. But just because one thread on one forum is made and a bunch of people reply and all join in, does not represent what the millions and millions of users are experiencing

People move back and forth between both operating systems for the same reasons - either iOS is laggy and buggy so they switch to android and every year you have android users that experience the exact same thing and they switch to iOS lol

They're both good, they both have their pros and cons, and guess what - they both let you make a phone call at the end of the day.

This. I was going to say the exact same thing but I knew it wouldn't change people's minds so I didn't bother. People need to understand that they both have their own problems and neither one is better than the other.

Animations make up a huge part of the iOS experience which is why them being smooth is important.Stutter severely detracts from the experience. At least let me jack up the animation speed so I can't see it

60fps animations are a big deal. They are the reason people switched to iOS device in droves. Most people cant pin point why they like the platform because they dont know that it is this smoothness.

Android does most things better than iOS but it lagged in smoothness dept for so long.

It's more important to me to be able join a video conference or answer an email than to watch the cc animation or notification stutter in Siri or recents.

That said Apple should smooth out the animation but some visual artifacts will not get me yo switch platforms as they have their pluses and minuses.

Stutter is actually a major reason why many switched to iPhone in the first place. The 2 things you mentioned can be done even on a 100 dollar Android phone.Thing is its not smooth doing it
