you'd go to the trouble of switching banks specifically to use iOS 17 beta on your main device during August 2023, rather than waiting for their app to be available several weeks later with iOS 17 GA ?
Yep. Love being on the cutting edge beta train 😂

Well, HSBC/First Direct are crap, so it’s worth the effort. I moved, it was beta issues that nudged me, though I wasn’t happy before then anyway as their app is clunky and just crap compared to others.

Had a videoconference with our corporate account director at HSBC earlier today. He made the mistake of asking if I had "any issues"... "Well, yes indeedy, funny you should ask.... did you know that your corporate and UK personal iPhone apps still don't work with software that's being tested by four million apple users."

What was the response?

The response was "erm, i don't know anything about that, I'll pass on the feedback." So it won't make any difference, I just thought I won the moral victory. :). As this is pretty typical of the bank, I'm doing the beta software on the phone (loving it) and iOS 15 on the ipad (for HSBC's digital key).

I think the bank got itself into a mess maintaining 30 different apps. Other global financial firms (eg. Amex) manage to have a single app globally fewer.

yea, they’ve made it difficult for themselves. Their app is just so clunky and horrible compared to others. I have NatWest & Starling, I prefer the latter’s app, but NatWest’s is basic like HSBC are trying to do, but do it better.

I know it’s early, but is Fineco working in B7? It’s the only app keeping me from upgrading. Thanks!
Since I had only the iPad for iOS 16 testing and the new iPadOS 16.1 PB is not available yet, I can't test beta 7 :(
Could anyone else test if Fineco (italian bank) app works?

HSBC UK has been updated now. Can anyone check to see if it now works on the newest iOS 16 beta?

HSBC working for me on the iphone with the latest PB. No guarantee that it will be working tomorrow when the latest PB is released. Maybe the iPad issue is related to the 16.1 release number of the latest ipados dev release?
