Has anybody else been able to duplicate this? It's a big bug if you ask me. You wouldn't see any me.com mail come in unless you had your mail app running.

Can others with me.com account test pushing to apple4s phone for me.

With mail app open (running in background) Send an email to your me.com from another device and see if you get it pushed. You should get it.

With mail app closed (not running in background) Send an email to your me.com from another device and see if you get it pushed. It doesn't recieve it untill you open the mail app.

I'm trying to see if this can be replicated. I know my gmail.com push is working with or without the mail app running in background.

LED flash on notifications does not work. Tested on 3 iPhone 4 devices.

Settings/general/accessibility/assistive touch bass the always show menu and tracking speed frayed out. What uses custom gestures?

There is a way to fix it, I was able to. Check out this thread and do as stated:

Mine worked. I just tested it. I had my cloud email to manual, since i dont really use it yet, but I changed it to push, used my other account to send it an email and closed the email app really quick before it sent, even in the background. I got the notification and everything from my me.com account

Anytime I reboot my phone, I have to go into accessibility and turn lcd off and then back on again to get it to work. Something with rebooting that messes it up.

I tried that. If you use your mail app to send the email, you can't close it fast enough. I tried that and no matter how fast I close the mail app in the background, the email would come in. But if I closed the mail app and sent my iphone (@me.com) a test message from my desktop, I won't get it unless I open the mail app.

Has anyone else run into the problem where Notification Center randomly reorders your apps in settings? I want to have facebook, twitter, and messages on the top, and email, reminders and calendar on the bottom. But when I close the settings app and open Notification Center it doesn't apply my changes. Sometimes it will get most of it right, but switch around twitter and reminders or stick calendar right in the middle.

I have "Sort Apps:" set to "Manually."

I'm getting pretty frustrated. Am I alone?

I have this problem also, and I noticed that it is related to multitasking bar. I mean, you need to close the application in multitask bar (press home button 2 times to call Multitask -> hold the App until starts shaking -> Press "-" simbol in App to close it) before change its order in Notification Center settings. At least, it works all the time for me to solve this bug ;)

PS: Sorry for my terrible english.

I found my 3GS and ipad is now terribly slow in loading apps or windows etc. Incredibly slow at times in fact.

Really hoping it's resolved in a coming update to be honest as I'm finding it very frustrating
Anyone else?

the thing that bugs me the most is sometimes my iphone alerts when I have no alerts
happens rarely, but it does happen
anyone else getting the ghost alerts?

Bug with photo albums

I have found a bug with photo albums where it keeps you from being able to actually delete PHOTOS from the camera roll.

Take some pictures.
Go to camera roll and select those pictures, add them to a NEW album, call it say test.

Go in to test and see this pictures.
Then, either delete these pictures from the album, or click edit and simply delete the album. It says it will remove them from the album.

Now, you don't have the album anymore, but of course the pictures are still in the camera roll.

Now, go to camera roll and select those same pictures from within camera roll and select to delete them, you'll get a warning that this will "delete them from EVERYWHERE" and click that option.

but, the pictures will STILL be in the camera roll. I have not found a way to actually delete them at this point other than reboot, reselect from camera roll and then delete.

Thanks, man! That's exactly a problem I had trying to move the stock ticker to the top when my notifications were set to sort manually. Your solution worked perfectly! :)

I find that I have a number of sound and notification related problems.
I'm on an iPhone 4.
Sometimes, custom ringtones work, and sometimes they don't.
Sometimes custom text tones work and sometimes they don't.
Sometimes custom vibrations work and sometimes they don't.
And my sound volume goes all over the place- not the actual setting, but the real world volume. For example, sometimes the typing tone is extremely loud. Sometimes it is barely audible. Same thing with the ringtone volume. I've yet to figure out any consistency as to why these things happen when they do.:(

Safari crashes when it's launched with no windows. You have to be fast and tap on any of the bookmarks to prevent crashing.

I'm having a problem with a preordered album. I couldn't download it directly on my iPhone 4 from the "preorder is now available" email, and then when I downloaded on my actual iTunes, I still don't see the album in my Purchased tab under Not on this iPhone, as I normally would, so I can't download to the phone without syncing.

I want to listen to my Kelly Clarkson!!! :D

nice to see another kelly clarkson fan on here! :)

i had this same problem with it not showing up on the purchased tab after downloading it last night and it showed up later today.. still having this issue?

iPad music player no longer has playback speed controls for podcasts, and all my podcasts are stuck playing at the old 0.5x speed.

After updating to iOS 5, my iPhone 4-iPod seems to play at the normal 1.5x speed when set to 2x, but automatically switches to 1x maybe slower (while still indicating 2x) after I answer or make a call on my Jawbone ERA Bluetooth headset. If I cycle through the speeds, .5x, 1x, then back to 2x it goes back to faster speed. Note: by normal 1.5x I mean that it has never played more than about 1.5 minutes of a podcast in 1 minute when set to 2x.

But how about the phone slowing down under IOS5?
Surely more have found this, I have found this on all my 3 devices now, 3gs, ipad and now a bi on the 4 but less on that

Also, I now on the 3GS, get apps start to load, hang as if out of memory, then they just disappear / crash so I have to reopen them
Nothing fancy, it happens with calendar and mail all the time

Bizarre, and not impressed with this update.
Either it's been poorly, less than apple quality implemented and executed or they are doing it on purpose to encourage users to upgrade to the new 4s

No, it finally showed up in the afternoon. Very frustrating for a while, though, especially when the album was on Amazon as a special for $4.99 all day.

The address bar in Safari fades out at the end like it has a burned out pixel.

Edit: Could someone post a screenshot of their address bar in Safari for this thread? I'm wondering if this is an issue with the release or my hardware.

I notice the same fade on my iphone and iPad, heres a screen shot my fading address bar. You can see the fading portion towards the end of the address bar.

With mail app open (running in background) Send an email to your me.com from another device and see if you get it pushed. You should get it.

I'm trying to see if this can be replicated. I know my gmail.com push is working with or without the mail app running in background.

That's what's happening to me. I sent an email to myself (me.com) from my iPad to my iPhone without the mail app running and it didn't get pushed to my phone, if I do this with the mail app running in the background there is no issue.
I've been getting emails too late because of this.

Also finding my iPad 1 very slow since going to ios5.

Neil.

my multitasking bar sometimes gets stuck on the iPhone when i try to close all of my wiggling apps and the iPhone isnt responding at all. after a few minutes of doing nothing it crashes back to the springboard and works again.

I am finding it had to get the copy/paste/selected menu put. Seem like I have to try a number of times to get it up.

I came here to report this frustration of mine, hoping I wasn't the only one with this problem.

I have the sound issues too, especially the keyboard. Randomly corrects itself. Sometimes loud sometimes quiet. Physical volume settings make no changes. Very annoying? Any advice?

Hi,

I just joined in order to respond to this post. There are lots of other iOS5 bugs I've discovered, but this one in particular is interesting. When my mail app is closed, not only do I not get any me.com mail, I don't get any mail, period. No Yahoo! mail, no GMail, no nothing. When the mail app is closed, it simply seems to ignore anything sent your way. It appears to me that, in order to get push mail, you must have the app open at all times.

This would seem to be a bug to me. I don't recall the mail app behaving this way in any incarnation of iOS4. BTW, I'm running iOS5 on a one-year-old refurbished 3Gs with 8gb of RAM.

I think the fade is a stylistic thing. Since the address seems to go behind the refresh icon, the good folks at Apple decided to make it look nice instead of just cutting it off. If you tap in the address bar, you'll find that the address expands to show as much of it as will fit in the bar (and usually all you'll see is the tail end of the address) and highlighted to allow editing. This was also the behavior in iOS4, IIRC.
