I ordered my 64GB iPad Wi-Fi 3G from MacMall in order to save the $67 in taxes.
My order has gone from "back ordered" to "In Process". Shipping has gone from "UPS ground" to "Null". What the heck does that mean?!? Null?
I don't care, as long as I get it by Tuesday before I leave for St. Thomas!

Null == undefined
 
Perhaps they found it to be so good, they're not to ship it and just keep it for themselves?

I guess all this stress was worth a lousy $67.00, huh?

Does Apple keep track of serial numbers? Just go into an Apple store and buy the same model. When you get your iPad in the mail, maybe before or maybe after your trip don't open it, then use the receipt of the one you bought and are using to return the unopened one to the Apple store for a full refund. Will that work?

Absolutely! Beats the stress of going from store to store trying to find one or even worse... waiting in line all day. On top of that you save the tax which obviously varies from state to state, so I saved $58.03 ordering via Macmall and I don't have to go out anywhere to get it, it's coming to me :D (granted a whole week after launch). BTW, my order shows "In Proccess", but show FedEx Economy (Second Day) with no tracking # yet.

Pretty sure when they scan in the item they know the serial number at that point.

The nearest Apple store is 2 hours away. It's OK, I've been playing with my dad's iPad for weeks now; I can wait 3 more days.
 
I ordered mine from Macmall. I cancelled the case on my order because I bought a HardCandy case now my order has shown as Cancelled for the last week. The Macmall order status page is horrible for updates.

Call them if you want the latest info.

I spoke with my salesman a few hours ago and he assured me that my ipad was shipping today and I should have it Monday or Tuesday.

I don't mind waiting a few extra days for a TOY if I will be saving the sales tax.

Really? My Boss pre-ordered 2 of them and when we called inquiring, they said they hadn't even gotten them in yet. Of course, I'm sure he's lying.

I have no problem with someone saving some money. But if someone has a time restriction, then the extra money for taxes may be worth not having to worry about when his iPad would arrive.

I can only assume you're kidding.

I'm as big an Apple fanboy as anyone, and I have 3 ipads, but if I had to sell plasma to get an iPad, then I have bigger issues to deal with first.

I would like to have it before we go on vacation, but it it doesn't get here; no big deal.
I just called MacMall and they said there system was down. So, will see ...

I was kidding. My plasma days are long gone. I did have to scrimp and save and open all the coffee cans full of coins.

Did you mean 0001? That's what mine says. But unlike you, I was told mine wasn't shipping until next week (hopefully I'll get lucky and it ships today).
 
WooHoo shipped with tracking from Memphis,TN No delivery date but should be here in MI by Monday
 
Anyone who ordered from Macmall have a charge post to their account yet?

I have a tracking number and my ipad has moved from Memphis to Nashville but still no charge on my credit card.
 
Mine is coming tomorrow (a couple of hours before we head to St. Thomas for vacation!), and my PayPal account has STILL not been charged! I called on Friday to see if it was gonna ship, and they said their system was down but it would still ship. Mmmmmm..... ? A moral dilemma is developing. I could really use that $829 for vacation.

I'm confused. What is the "moral dilemma"?

If it's coming (shipped) then the $ in your PayPal acct. it just waiting to be withdrawn by MM. If it's not shipped, and you need the money (not sure why you bought a $829 toy if you need the money, but anyway) then cancel the order and use the money for the trip.
