I’m loving this new air. I just really want the magic keyboard. Such a big pricetag though.

I tried the magic keyboard at the Apple store with an iPad Air 4, and omg it was a joy to use. The way the trackpad is so precise and fast to navigate iOS is just amazing, and the whole design of it as well, and that hinge!. I’m thinking long and hard if I want to fork out the £300 for my Air 4 though, its expensive for sure.

Totally worth it Am using it with the Air 4 and though slightly cramped compared to the 12.9 inch version, makes it a very portable, powerful, device. There are cheaper options out there but comes with compromises.

Ok thanks. Yes i would only consider the Magic keyboard, or the Logitech folio keyboard for £140 as they both have trackpads and use the smart connector. The cheaper bluetooth keyboards are too much of a compromise for me personally.

It's been about a week now and I am enjoying my new iPad Air. I admit at this rate though, I will be buying a new iPad Mini when they are released.

I feel like if I were to get a Magic Keyboard or even a Smart Keyboard Folio I would reach for my Air instead of my laptop in many instances and it would be rare to bring my laptop traveling anymore. Whereas previously I would bring my Mini and laptop, now it will be the Air only.

For how I currently use a tablet though, the Mini is way more practical. The good news is I have several months to use the Air before I have to decide.

In landscape mode (USB-C on the right) it sounds like there is only sound coming out of the bottom left and bottom right speaker. Is that correct? It's difficult to tell as both the speakers on either side are close to one another, but it sounds like the top left and top right speaker are not used?

I've done a test in landscape with a stereo source and yes left and right output is as expected.

In portrait (USB-C at the bottom). The left channel seems to be coming from the bottom speaker and the right channel is coming from the top left speaker. The top left and bottom left do seem to be the primary source of sound in portrait.

There are only 2 speakers, so....?

There are only two speakers. Apple put the holes on each side for symmetry

Just unboxed my new iPad Air 4th gen and immediately noticed it has a slight bend! It is slighty concave when the screen is facing up.

Anyone else having this issue? I know the iPad Pro's have had some problems with this but I thought they would have sorted this out by now...

I’ve been enjoying the iPad Air and return of TouchID, but since my iPad Pro isn’t selling at the price I set it at with AppleCare+ I will keep the Pro and return the Air.

iPad pro 11 256 GB wifi for $829 or iPad pro 12.9 256 GB wifi for $999? both pretax. i'll definitely buy one since i just sold my mini 5. this will be mostly used to watch movies and doing light computing functions when i'm too lazy to whip out my 15" macbook pro.

Just trying to decide between my usual gray and sky blue. I went with a blue iPhone 12 and love it so maybe I’ll take another chance....

I don’t know, just like the A8X and A10X made people take iPad a bit more serious... but when the A12X came out it was an absolute beast if a computer.
So yeah, Apple’s A14 is a bigger beast than the A12 a bit. That’s even WITHOUT the X in the name, so just how powerful will the A14X/Z?

I paid for GB4. But also the multi-core is still better with the A12X, but I agree the A14 is ridiculously fast and powerful. The one negative is apples iPhone A-chips do get warmer due to such smaller enclosures. My iPP runs cool for a long time. But to be 100% honest, I didn’t notice any performance improvements cause the iPad Pros 1-4 are still extremely powerful and zippy too.

*It’s insane, as the A10X already put the iPad into MacBook Pro territory with on-par power and usability. Then the A12X comes out and the iPads then blow the MBPs out of the water and outshine most other computers.
I’ve been using my iPad as my main driver since Air 2.
So seeing that the A14 is itself already a bit more powerful in some areas over A12X. It is hard to imagine how powerful and insanely fast the A14X/Z will be.
I’m pumped. :)
and unfortunately the light bleed, (from all the reports) *appears to be affecting everyone who owns the Air 4.
Everyone has lightbleed on the new Air?

I’m not sure if this is one for here or perhaps a new thread, but I’ll try here first.

Recently got my iPad Air, and have also just got the official apple USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adaptor. When listening to music, the volume increases without input from me. Phantom volume increases it seems.

Has anyone come across this before, on any iPad? Any suggestions?

to be honest, unless you get the pink one, the color does not really matter. Both the green and blue one look like silver in most light conditions. Initially I wanted the blue one to match my new iPhone and Apple Watch but I soon realised that it does not really matter since they look almost identically. Therefore I bought the green one, which was actually available at the time of my purchase decision. I covered it by getting the blue smart folio case

Hello

Today bought Air 2020 64 and very disappointed by its display.
Text on the display looks blurry and letters are kind of doubled a bit.
This is clearly seen if compared with an old Ipad 4 2012.
Also, it is hard to read a text because of this, it creates pressure on the brain and strain on eyes.

Has anyone experienced the same?

No, my Air 4 display is basically identical the Pro 11 screen minus the 120 MHz refresh rate (P3 liquid Retina display). Very sharp and colours really pop, with good contrast levels. I know some people have brought Air 4‘s with slightly defective screens, which may be the case with yourself, I got lucky I guess. Take it back to Apple now that the stores are open, explain your issue with the screen and then hopefully they replace it with a better screen.
