The 2024 Air doesn’t come with a charging brick, the 2022 version did.

Just been on the US store and they still get the charger included there.

I’ve got an IPP 9.7 with a battery that’s still at 94%. $65 for the trade-in, might be time for an upgrade 🤔

Is there any difference in weight? What's the lightest iPad right now, outside of the Mini?

Is this the end of physical sim cellular? Had heard they’d removed the sim slot on the iPhone in the US, but they’re yet to do away with physical slots in the UK.

Edit: Looking on the Apple Store app, yes. Only iPads not updated today still take sim cards.
Can confirm on the French site, no physical SIMs for new iPads.

[please answer] is it correct ipad air m2 can decode prores? Because in apple official website, it does not state that can decode prores. But why? Because ipad pro m2 can decode prores

Would the last iPad Pro with M2 support the Pencil Pro like the new iPad Air M2…
If so, ı would buy the last gen IPP instead of the new iPad Air
No the iPP M2 does not support the pencil pro because the the charging mechanism on the pencil pro is made for the different charging wiring of the new iPP M4 and iPA M2. The iPP M4 and iPA M2 face ID is now where the apple pencil charges so the charging wiring has to change.

One more thing: You can use the Pencil Pro on the new iPad Air but it does not hoover, thats a pro feature
If that is the case, the iPad Air is not for Procreators

In Europe:
You’re still paying 150 bucks for 128GB extra storage on top of a still already insane base price.
Or a thousand bucks for an entry level tablet with an old-fashioned screen.
Guess I’ll check again in another year, because **** this.

Sad day indeed... Apple just killed my iPad upgrade path by removing physical SIM after they destroyed my iPad 6 with iOS 17... My telco still does not offer eSIM, but nowadays where to find telcos that can offer more than 5 years of minimalist usage data plan for less than $100 cumulative prepaid...?

The increase in base storage is good. Don't think there are many reasons to upgrade from M1 iPad Air. Good to see 13" screen size option for iPad Air.

Definitely not in the UK, I had assumed eSim must be much better catered for in the US otherwise they wouldn’t do it… as that doesn’t seem to be the case, even worse a move.

No upgrades there I particularly care about. My Mini 4 is getting very long in the tooth... I might just pick up a 2022 Air now that retailers will be clearing them out.
lol mini 4…that was my last full-time used ipad, but now primarily a kids device. was a great device in its time, but it really can’t keep up very well anymore. i am waiting for the next mini update, which i presume will basically be an ipad air mini with m2.

I'm not confident that the Mini will get an M Series processor.

hmm well around the last mini update, the m1 was just emerging and only in the ipad pro, so a lower priced a-series chip seemed logical for the time. unless there is some type of thermal constraint, not sure why it wouldn’t be an m variation.

The A series is far less power hungry for a device with a small battery.

Don't worry about that, the A17 Pro chip for example is more advanced than the M1/M2 chip. The next Mini should be getting the A17 Pro or A18 and 8GB RAM which will be great for gaming, video editing, media consumption etc.

Works for me! Bring it on, Apple.

Just be that's bummed about the keyboard? I was ready to buy but it's the only iPad which is stuck without function keys. I would have preferred it to support the Magic Keyboard Folio from the base iPad, you get a bigger trackpad as well.

Yeah same. When I was a regular iPad user, I carried a separate Apple BT keyboard around, and put the iPad on a stand. The keyboard was better and didn't have to be attached, which was a big advantage IMO--especially where space was sometimes constrained, like on airplanes or in coffee shops.

I still prefer that flexibility. Not sure why people want to give up the advantage of being able to place the keyboard anywhere, unlike with a laptop.
