In a van down by the river
I was born several decades after it happened. I still know what it is. It's an important part of American history and we're talking about an American product here. It fits like hand in glove.

How about not release a product that makes their customers wonder whether Apple did any QA?
Unless you have verified information detailing some kind of coverup by Apple to lie to and defraud the consumer in regards to said product, your statement that it "fits like hand in glove" is not true nor is there any 'gate' involved.

Arguing your opinion as fact is not logical.

I’ll be buying one iPad Air 5 Joke to go along with my iPad 9th gen cellular.

I have a use case for both at the same time, and I get enough unwanted tab refreshes with the 9th gen that cost me time and sometimes money.

Not all that excited about the power button fingerprint thingamabob, and I need to find a case that protects the corners because I never drop an iPad flat on a side. But it fills the bill for me and I will be in the queue on Friday.
Still rocking my iPad Air Joke 5.

No more tab refreshes.

This iPad was launched for 4 main reasons:

1. 5G - This keeps networks happy as they are all transitioning over to 5G and them having the mini with a 5G offering next to a more expensive Air with only 4G just looks really bad.

2. Centre Stage - Every iPad has it in the line up only the Air was lacking the feature which stuck out like a sore thumb.

3. Winding down of A14 chip production, a cost effective move by Apple, slamming an already mass produced chip inside not only cuts costs but also give good marketing and encourages upgrades.

4. To keep the Air up to date in general, is it worth Air 4 users to upgrade obviously not, but iPad Air 3 users, most definitely, this is a huge upgrade for them.

All of Apples line ups are peaking, there isn’t an awful lot more Apple can bring to the table with anything…

iPhone peaked with the iPhone X

Apple Watch peaked with the series 4

Macs are currently starting to peak across the board with the transition to Apple silicon

iPad Pro’s peaked in 2018

iPad Air peaked with the Air 4

Apple know this, and they also know they are giving less and less reason for people to justify upgrading their tech, they also know users are holding onto devices for longer and longer periods of time, hence why firstly support for devices is lasting many many years and also why Apple are starting to incorporate a huge push towards subscriptions even to the point where they are planning hardware subscriptions.

The issue isn’t that the devices Apple are launching are bad, pointless or a joke, the issue is that Apple have pretty much nailed every product line up with what tech is currently available, I suppose you could say in general Apple are quite far ahead in the tech game, they are just waiting for technology to catch up so they can further improve their product line ups.

What is fantastic though is the many years of support these devices are getting… iPadOS 15 still works on the iPad Air 2 and iOS15 still works on the iPhone SE 1st Gen which were both launched 7.5 years ago! That is just crazy!

As for the storage options with the Air 5, Apple have always priced their products to encourage you to get the one that’s a bit better… that’s just good business… they know most people will want more than 64GB of storage, and so will opt for the 256GB option, but they also know that they can potentially claw that extra few $$$ out of you by up selling you to the iPad Pro 11” too, either way its a win win situation for Apple… they haven’t become a multi trillion dollar company with bad marketing and pricing, they are masters at what they do and know exactly how they can claw every last cent you can afford out of you.

Spoiler: the new pro will be the same general design with a larger logo on the back for MagSafe and an M2, not worth the wait honestly

I like my iPad Joke Air 5. I think it strikes the perfect balance. I am not a pro user so no need to spend the extra cash. I am also an above average consumer so the base model does not work for me. The Air 5 hits the spot. While 64GB is low, I can deal. I use cloud storage for anything that can be put in the cloud. I have about 30 apps on my Air 5 right now and still have about 30GB free. Plenty for me, to be honest, I am sure I will upgrade it next year or two and spring for the larger storage.

I traded in a 10.5 Pro for the Air 5. Great model. I was beginning to have some issues with it, and it had the bright spot on the screen.

Personally I’d suggest waiting for the release of the new Pro (if it’s coming this year) and then deciding. I might trade the Air 5 up depending on how they configure the next Pro. I just needed something asap that wasn’t reloading tabs and could handle Tweetdeck.

I love my Air 5 64gb. Don’t need more storage as it’s a complementary device to my MacBook. Upgraded from the IPad Pro 10.5. Only ‘pro’ feature I would have liked is pro-motion but not worth the extra money for my use case

The only version of the air that makes sense is the 64gb version. If you need more storage the pro is what to get for only $50 more.

Depends on how much storage you need. If you need 256GB, then the equivalent Pro is $150-200 MSRP more.

Mind, at <=256GB, I kinda prefer the Air for the chassis colors. :p

At this point, you should probably wait til June to see if there's another Pro but I would guess they're not gonna do one this year. You can also look at how creakgate panned out then.
