I'm in Japan, so it could be a Japanese brand. But this is the one:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/iBUFFALO-Ai...d=1386559264&sr=8-2&keywords=ipad+air+ケース+クリア

I like it. I wish it were a bit thinner though and a fraction tighter, but it's comfortable and the clear is really clear. It works well with the smart cover which is important. I'm sure other brands have exactly the same feel and look and possibly a bit cheaper. I didn't have much choice here in Japan. I'd give it a 3.5/5.

That looks really good. I wonder if it is the same as the iBlason case that is sold here (just rebranded).

Does it have a floppy back to it? (i.e. does the back of the case not sit tightly against the ipad, and leave a bit of a gap?

Does it have a rough spot about halfway down the middle of the left edge (where they cut it out for the smart cover)?

Are two speaker holes on each side of the lightening port covered by the case?

I wouldn't say that it's floppy or overly rough, but it does display those things you say. Actually, until you mentioned that, I hadn't even notice those two points! The speaker holes seem fine as well.

the top and bottom top edge in portrait mode has a little too much move in it for my liking.

I think it's part and parcel of having a soft shell which looks and feels nice. Like I said, 3.5/5 for me. a bit tighter fitting, a bit thinner and it would be perfect. I'd say if you could pick it up for 10 bucks you can't go wrong. 20 bucks and it's a 50/50.

Best rotating stand case?
Didn't see any listed on first page/
I have the Targus for my iPad 3 and I'm happy with it despite the fake leather loosening up so much that it's barely useable as a stand.
Thanks

I am using the Poetic rotating case and it works well. Wish the back would separate from the front.

Also the belkin freestyle rotates and separates. Little bit bulky.

An then there is this:

Click Me

For rotation without the case.

Tucano Palmo

Couldn't stand to be so careful with the pad, so went and got a Tucano Palmo at retail today.
http://www.tucanousa.com/US/products/iPad_Air/palmo/

Case has the usual Tucano "nice" leather feel, though I see it listed on the site as "eco-leather". Not sure why the packaging lists the Euro site, while only the USA site has the Palmo listed.

Pros
-cheaper than the Apple Smart Cover, and a couple levels more rigid
-plastic rear edge covers grip the pad tightly
-sleep/wake magnet works as promised and doesn't trigger false sleep when case is folded around on to backside

Cons
- almost a quarter of the pad's speaker holes are covered by a support strip of case material -- caused by a rather large power plug hole
- this is not a case to use for long term typing/movie watching -- the cover has nothing to grip against
- left rear plastic protection has a large gap, almost like it was made to have a Apple Smart Cover on it as well

personal verdict:
I have used a Tucano case before on the iPad 2 so was pleased to find my local retailer had just got in fresh stock of these. Just literally got home with it, but it seems to have amazing fit and finish. I like the edge protection, the weight is reasonable and it looks professional.

I'm keeping it.

Are there no shell cases the don't leave the left side exposed? I don't want to add a Smart Cover and would like to have that side protected too.

I'm really looking for something close to the Smart Cover. I just can't justify $80 and tax.

I want light and I want not a hard plastic back. The Moshie looks like the closest from what I see. But it's clearly got flawed based on reviews. Things not lining up, etc.

I like using the Smart Cover because I can remove it. However I see absolutely no air shells with a magnet to hold the cover when folded back and I hate the flip flop. Trifold is fine for short reading but not for gaming or long bouts or work /reading lying down. I even think leaving the Smart Cover on already defeats the air. But it's fine because it's easy to remove.

I really liked the Smart Cover plus shell companion but haven't tried the apple Smart Cover. My family member says it's worth it. That it's perfect (on his new mini) but $80..... No removable cover. And the flop I have to travel for Xmas and would prefer to take the air but I have protective cases that fit maybe I can find a cheap neoprene sleeve, or use an existing. Pain on the plane.

Has anyone found a light shell with magnet to work well with the Smart Cover. Plenty of light shells, none with any kind of retention when folded back.

I'd really appreciate some help. At this point it needs to be a local buy or amazon prime. Searching amazon for ipad air magnetic shell is a disaster as it just returns every case with wake. I checked some of the previous makers but nothing yet. It looks like incipio is making such a shell but knowing them it will be $25 and crack/flake in three months.

One final thought. I have previously used skins on everything, but I don't do screen skins. I've considered I carbons or similar, however I need something more crush proof, drop friendly. At home there's no issue rolling naked, but skins are usually just a bit to thick for the polycarbonate shells and they end up either not fitting or damaging the skin.

Sorry for such a long post and thanks, I'm really out of the loop on cases and have read the thread as well as others which has been extremely time saving to eliminate, nothing sticks yet.

I suppose if I can't find something I'll be buying the smart case. Or a $4 shell until a . Better one arrives.

Is the black Belkin QODE Ultimate Wireless Keyboard ipad air Case Aluminum Space Gray or black? Does this come with a space gray matching Aluminum?

Exactly what I am looking for as well. The clear shell I have already causes couple scratches on left side. Otherwise it's a good cover.

I've purchased a (Space Gray) Air for my Father this Christmas and need to get him a case for it since he's clumsy. I've settled on the easy option of the Apple Smart Case but am just considering Black or Brown.

Does anyone use one? I'm interested to know what it weathers like after a month or two of use. Pictures would be very welcome!

I personally like how leather discolours with use and the colour of both the fresh brown and black Smart Case seems rather unnatural to me, I just wonder if they gets better with use?

I've seen a few threads here where people have applied shoe polish or leather oil to them with interesting effects, but not found how it's aged naturally. I do note the brown iphone case weathers in interestingly but wonder if there is a difference with the iPad since it doesnt get scuffed around in pockets and is affected more by oily fingers clasping it.

I have the black Smart case but only for a couple of weeks. So far I'm not really seeing any break in or wear in change. I'd also like to see photos of some natural wear.

So what are the best cases that just cover the back of an iPad air? I'm looking for a case that covers the back and sides but leaves the screen exposed and adds as little thickness to the ipad as possible.

Avoid that case. I bought one. The material "dusts" off even after cleaning it. I've come across several Chinese no-name ebay cases like this, and they all give off a fine TPU dust (which never ceases). Wipe it down with water, alcohol, etc., and it continues to do it.

Otherwise, it is almost the perfect minimalist case. Good fit, cutouts, etc.

I had this case and you're right, a couple times I've felt it it was chalky knew something was rubbing off. I used it a couple days and never touched it again it's going in the trash.

Is there seriously no other good quality cases out there similar to this one?
