Could you post a camera shot of a white screen in a pitch black room please?
Also is the digitizer laminated to the display like the iPhone?

cyan>?

I was thinking the mini retina screen might not meet 100% or RBG coverage since Apple didn't say anything about it in the press materials.
If it's has a smaller color gamut, similar to the old mini and iPad 1 and 2, then it should be most noticeable in the blues..

Blue will look Cyan, and should be very obvious next to a iPhone 5 or iPad 3/4/air

They didn't, but logically it is..

*Larger display
*Faster processor
*Higher price

Slightly faster processor and higher price are because of the larger display. To me screen size shouldn't define whether something is flagship or not. If the Air had touch id or software features that the mini didn't get I might consider it the flagship.

Ummmmmm, no.

Larger display in the tablet space is not necessarily better.

Apple doesn't publish specs for a reason. And 100Mhz is hardly worth mentioning when talking about 1300MHz vs 1400MHz. Apple doesn't.

Price? Mmmmmm. Not sure I would hang my hat on making that the determining factor.

To me it will be which one sells better. Not sure they will fess up, but some web tracking sites might spill the beans.

Ummmmmm, yes.

Do you see BMW calling their 1 series their 'flagship' over their 7 series?

Do you see Mercedes calling their A class their 'flagship' over their S class?

Do you see Microsoft calling their Surface RT their 'flagship' over their Surface Pro?

Not a scientific test obviously, but another data point. Second pic is full brightness without the control center dimming the background. Take it FWIW, I personally don't find it to be that big of a deal but there is definitely a difference.

The pinks and reds are most shocking.

I don't see Apple calling anything their flagship either. What's your point? :p

I think which ever makes Apple the most $$ is their "flagship".

The color gamut on the iPad Air's screen is killer! I noticed it when I turned it on too... it seemed almost too colorful. I don't remember my iPad 3 looking like that... but it's been a year. Anyway, I definitely think I made the right choice for ME with the Air.

Wow that's pretty significant actually.

There is indeed.

Was sceptical but yes that is correct.

It doesn't appear that both are on the same plane/flat...?

I'm not sure you could say either the 1 series or the 7 series is their flagship car. In fact, do they even have a flagship car? Maybe an ///M model?

Same exact thing here

Comparing a 128 gb Air and 128 gb mini....same exact thing.... Disappointed ..very nice sharp deep colors on Air...rather bland and dull on on mini...oh we'll...we'll see what the folks are saying before I swap

First thing I noticed about the new mini today. Disappointed. Still a great device non the less. Can this be covered in a Ota software update?

Welp. Glad I didn't wait for the mini and went with the Air instead. I just had this feeling I'd be disappointed if did. Lo and behold...

Was still thinking about exchanging but no need to now after reading this/other threads.
