The Intel (and AMD) MacBooks are made that way, so Linux (or BSD) would have a hard time running on them. These Macs don't have drivers, and no Linux (or BSD) creators are not that interested on turning Macs to Linux boxes, as there are thousands of so-called Windows computers around, even tablets around.
