I got an email from UPS that had a link to follow delivery on live map.
This has happened to me in the past. My MBP purchase from last year had the exact same status update the day of scheduled delivery and I still received it that day. UPS tracking is very unreliable for Canadian orders in my experience.Toronto, Ontario, Canada here
Just saw my shipment with a weird clearance message... probably should not expect delivery today anymore
Anyone else here in TO have the same message?
Edit: called UPS and they told me to find a broker to clear the customs lol... what has happened there dear Apple?

Mine too, but that isn't usually indicative of a close delivery time.
UPS has this crazy logistics program that optimizes deliveries so they can almost go right past your house at 10am and still not deliver until later in the evening, its some kooky algorithm that consists of of gas saving routes in combination with minimizing as many left turns a possible to avoid time delays and accidents.
To be fair, you would have just been sitting on a different set of pins and needles
You would have had no way of knowing ahead of time that the stores were going to actually have adequate stock on release day, and therefore would have been worrying up until release day as to whether or not you would get one.So --- with that, I have to say that I am glad I pre-ordered because it at least gives some sort of guarantee when I am getting one.
My 12.9 2TB silver is out for delivery. Surprised to see that same config available at the local (Dayton) Apple store.
Was June 3rd delivery, but Apple stepped up big, my iPad, Keyboard and 2x HomePods are all out for delivery as of this morning

Wow, that’s a distressing message to get. I’m shocked at Apple as well.
I had thought that by buying from Apple in Canada, and paying the sales tax in advance as well, would have prevented anything like this happening.
I suggest that you contact Apple in this case, and have them iron things out.
Mine has been stuck in a "Loaded on Delivery Vehicle" for about four hours now. I sure hope I see the status change soon to "Out for Delivery". I'm a bit concerned because I live in a bit of a rural area and UPS often seems to flake out on Friday deliveries and they end up arriving on the following Monday...fingers crossed.

I have the same issue. I know UPS has used contract drivers/trucks in the past in my area, so I’m wondering if that is happening today. Loaded at 6:47 EDT and no movement since. The website does give me a delivery window though today, the app just says ’by 7pm’

I'll wait and see... and now I can't even see my order on Apple's website/Apple store app... It shows my Apple ID does not match the order. It's been very fun overall!
I didn't cough to get the day off, so I'm at the office. However, I live close enough to work that as soon as I get delivery notification to the Condo, I will go pick them up and bring them here. Of course, I won't do that until the iPP is here, no sense picking up the ATV - that one I can do nothing with here at the office!
It looks as though yours cleared after the earlier message on your tracking, and I hope that all goes smoothly and you indeed get it today. I hope that things work out OK for the other member who had this message as well.
It‘s entirely possible that the “Non UPS Broker” mentioned in this case is in fact, Apple, and it was up to them to clear it which seems to be fine in your case, and I hope will be for the other person who had this message as well.

With mine just having entered the “preparing for shipping“ mode today, I will be following this in case the same thing happens to mine once it is shipped.
I'm at work, but mine is at the UPS store by my house waiting for me to go collect it.
Yeah, I feel you. UPS was a hot mess. After that “broker release” message on my UPS app, the estimated arrival date went from “21/05 - end of day” to “info not available.” Did an online chat with UPS, they just reverted me to a number that was automated. Looked pretty grim this morning.
20min later, I got a knock at the door! I had the same message for my iPad Pencil during its delivery a week ago too. Not sure what UPS is doing but it shouldn’t affect your delivery today ????

Huh! Apparenty both have just been delivered. Finishing a report and then will go pick them up!
My order (1tb space gray wifi) which was scheduled to arrive June 2-9 just charged my card this morning and went into preparing to ship.
I of course realized this after I had gone ahead and placed a launch day order for in store pickup which I can go grab today. I'll just have to return one of them. Oh well.
