@Noxide400

The Adapter looks very good. Can you make one Adapter for me and ship it to Germany?! I pay it via PayPal directly!
Sorry for my bad English!

Just a quick update. This cable works on the New iPad. Mirrors the iPad just like the iPad 2.

Hello epaminos,
I sure can make one for you. Make sure your PM settings are set so I can give you my information.

@glen,
I sent an email a few weeks back to see how everything was holding up. Glad to hear you tested out on the New iPad.

I have made a few more and I have noticed that apple has a new USB wire that's different than the first "squared" version. The inturnal wires seem thinner and maybe one of the reasons the New iPad is taking longer to charge. I do not have solid facts but the wire as a whole feels and looks thinner.

Hi Nox and everyone on here.

Nox I'd like to have one made if that's ok. I'm in the UK so just let me know what the shipping will be, not too bothered if it's on a slow service, it's going to be used for my house in France and not going there for a few weeks.

Can anyone on here tell me the following just before I order from Nox:

- Does it work with the ipad 1?

- Does anyone have a putlocker premium account and if so has anyone tested to see if videos watched through this work on to the big screen? I think the ipad 1 doesn't mirror? But if you watch a video it essentially plays in a fullscreen video play like in youtube.

Thanks
Sam

if the ipad1 app allows video out this will work,...there is no diff about the vid vga adapter , it just sends power as well.

Thanks for prompt reply. I think it does transfer video as per youtube but I think ipad 1 may be limited to say just photos/youtube etc where as it's my understanding that the ipad 2 mirrors, which would be handy if anyone knows if this does now work on ipad 1. Reason being is in France I use a premium putlocker account to watch shows on ipad and would be great if could get on the big screen. This is essentially and player launched from a browser that ends up looking like it's the ipad native video app but I'm not 100% sure.

I use macs daily as a designer, and for personal use and do love them but sometimes I do wish things on them were a little easier - while I wouldn't want another tablet brand I'm sure the options on signals out and mirroring work on even the most basic model.

this is exactly why I went to the ipad2 - it mirrors everything on the pad, not just certain apps like the Ipad1....

Hi creative,

I will be glad to build one for you. Just let me know what you need (VGA cable only or VGA cable with the charger an extention cable). As glen stated, the iPad1 doesn't mirror and is dependent on the apps ability to support display out you might want to check with their website to see if its possible.

@glen. Thanks for your help in enlightening fellow iDevice owners. Your a great wingman!

I would totally love to buy at least 2 or three of these

Would really need at least 2 for VGA with charging and 2 for DVI with charging if possible...would pay via paypal immediately! In Wilton, CT for my office...we so need the ability to charge and display images from our iPads at the same time.

Kindly respond with details and how quickly we'd be able to get this going! so glad that I found this board!!!

Hello Humorme,

The modified VGA Cable is $65 each .I also have one that comes with an extension cable and 10w charger for $75 each. Shipping is included if shipped in the US.

As for the DVI cable, I have not worked on that one before. Did you mean the "HDMI" cable? If so, I believe it has the capability to charge. If you can send me a link to what it looks like that would help me to see which cable you are talking about.

The extension cable/charger looks like this, if your interested.

works for iPad 1 but no data transfer

Hello,

It is possible that I still have grounding problems, but while I can charge from a computer using this cable design, I cannot transfer data. It does allow me to charge and display video at the same time, so I can live with that. I'll just have to carry another cable around, but at least I won't run out of power during a presentation.

On another note, I broke the casing for the 30-pin connector... anyone know where I can get a decent looking replacement?

Hi mtnmarcus,
It can be a few things. If you have already took the head apart and all looks well, there maybe some too much solder may have seeped in the cracks of where the pins (white or green wire pins) and shorted those out on the metal housing. I've destroyed a few VGA cables during construction. But if the head is still intact, then maybe one of the wires came undone. Using rosin flux paste will help make the wire solder better even with the smallest amount of solder. Also, maybe the white and green wire are touching and you don't even know it. If you have a volt meter on hand and if you have the head apart, you can do a continuity test (check for grounding). Put the meter on the "ohms" setting. Put the black lead on the metal head and the red lead on the white wire. If it reads 0.2-0.0, then it is grounded. Do the same for the green wire. If it reads 0.2-0.0, it is grounded. If both wires read high ohms (like any high number 34.0- 400.5+), this means they are ok. Last thing is to put one lead on the white and the other on the green. If it reads 0.2-0.0, the green and white wires are touching and just need to be repositioned and resoldered.

Hope this helps.

Wonderful Transaction!!!

Hi @Noxide400 :

Thanks for all your Help in sending me the cables ASAP. I really Appreciate the effort you made so I can Have the Cables in Two Days. Even with the time paypal Took to Clear your Funds.

I would Like to Recommend To everyone Thinking about getting one of this cables to Just Buy them to you (@Noxide400). I spoiled 2 Apple VGA cables just trying to solder the 4 colored USB cables to the back of the pins, even with my 12watt very thin Weller Tip. You definitely need a Microscope on this one.

I haven't had the opportunity to use the cables myself since they arrived yesterday to my Miami Office and I'm out of the country. But my Secretary told me they where great!!!

I'm eager to try them myself next Monday.

Again, @Noxide400, Thanks for such a Smooth Transaction and Excellent Service.

Kudos and ***** (5 Stars) :D

Best Regards,

Stejimenez

Still have the "blemished" one?

Noxide400,

Do you still have the blemished cable you offered for sale for $40 in March?

That would be fine for me.

You can email me at kathy@kathyschrock.net

Thanks muchly!

Glad to hear that it's still going strong. I abuse the hell out of my cable and it finally got a rip in the main vga cable. I ran over it with my truck one night, not knowing it fell out while loading my lunch for work.

Ditto... I'm Extremely Happy With The Two cables I got From NOX. This is the best Purchase I've made in my entire iPad Life. I'm Able to teach 4 hour courses and seminars (2 Times a Day) without worries of draining my iPad battery. I'm so in love with my cables that i now always connect them even when my battery is full.

!!! Kudos to Nox !!!

His ingenuity and craftsmanship has created a really must have tool for every iPad presenter.
