My question is simple and has been around since I came here. What are the other experiences of others with regards to ergonomics? Mine doesn't feel quite comfortable, so I wasn't if it was just me. That's it. Simple, easy. Give me your opinion and you'll have helped me. What you wrote isn't helpful. And it's not terribly clever. More bullying by people behind screens. Yawn...
Also, don't bother replying. Blocking you as well. I need advice, not this nonsense.

That's only in your own mind, and based on your own baggage.
I'm far stronger than the average male, I'm the 2nd strongest guy of my gym here.
Today I tried out the iPad and I have been holding the iPad for 2 hours in my left hand, and I definetly noticed the weight after using it for so long.
So to all the people suggesting that he/she is too weak, get real. If I feel the weight after 2 hours of holding it in my hand, I can't image how average people must feel after holding it in their hand for so long.
The iPod Touch and iPhone clearly wins on mobility. The iPad is best used when it's laying on something, but not to hold it in your hand for a long period of time.
Apple needs to cut the weight down or change the design for the iPad 2 in my opinion.
...and we're all very impressed.I'm far stronger than the average male, I'm the 2nd strongest guy of my gym here.
As you would if you were holding your car keys, a cheeseburger, or even holding up your own left hand for 2 hours straight.Today I tried out the iPad and I have been holding the iPad for 2 hours in my left hand, and I definetly noticed the weight after using it for so long.
Obviously. Remind me again where Apple states that the iPad is meant to be held for hours on end?The iPad is best used when it's laying on something, but not to hold it in your hand for a long period of time.
Ya think? The iPod Touch and iPhone clearly wins on mobility.
I disagree.Apple needs to cut the weight down or change the design for the iPad 2 in my opinion.
Mark,
Maybe you can give an intelligent answer. Why in the hell would you hold it in your hand, unsupported for two hours?

I'm with you, someguy. I don't even want to hold my iPhone 4 for two hours straight. ANYTHING that is held that long will lead to fatigue, no matter how strong the individual.
As I said earlier, these guys would only be happy if they had someone holding the iPad FOR them...with somebody else feeding them grapes and fanning them.
It's hard to understand how some of these guys function in the real world if they are so easily annoyed, burdened or overwhelmed.
We're serious. I can't speak for the OP, but someone who wants to use a device, has some difficulty with it, etc. is probably not joking or trolling. I'm being serious. I'm a software engineer. My joints are abused after over 15 years in front of a keyboard full time. The weight of certain objects that you hold for long periods of time certainly does matter.
I have to think about strange things like which kind of shifters to use on my bike or how to open a bag of cereal. It has nothing to do with strength and everything to do with recovering from RSI.
As someone who has experienced CTS and other RSI-related issues, these things eventually do matter and I can attest to the fact that at certain weights, depending on how you hold something, even a 1.5lb. device can be awkward.
Any example. The Nexus One is less comfortable to me than the iPhone. The reason being that the material the Nexus One is made of, the same slippery surface that the MacBook is made of, is hard to grip. So when I owned both for Android and iPhone development the Nexus One was a device I never carried. It was awkward to keep a grip on it given the phone's surface. So it went into a case eventually and was much better. Did the same thing when I bought my iPad. Immediately put it in a silicone case so it wasn't so slippery.
EDIT: Also, fwiw, when someone says something about how insane it is that the iPad is too heavy for some of us or talks about lifting weights I'm voicing those posts using the voice of Hanz and Franz. It makes it less painful.
Yea... I want nekkid Victorias Secret models...
Please note, that's models. With an S.

Okay, we get it. Pardon my insensitivity but there will always be users at the fringes who need accommodations due to singular conditions. That doesn't make the device itself flawed or unusable for the majority of the public.

I don't like to be forced to lean over a screen in order to use it.
Maybe I'm having a different vision of a tablet. For me it's something to walk around with.

Wow...Hey Mark,
It's me, the first strongestest guy here at the gym. I was knee deep in my workout after filming an old spice commercial when I happened upon your post.
As the first moststrongest guy here at the gym, I have to say that I held the iPad between my pointer finger and thumb for three consecutive hours while viewing youtube videos of guys working out at their respective gyms (in portrait mode, as seen in the picture), and didn't notice any fatigue, other than from the injection spot on my upper bicep on the same arm.
If the iPad is too heavy for you, I suggest you pump some more iron with me here at the gym!
Sincerely, first most strongest guy here at the gym.
