that would be nice, I wish Apple would release a bluetooth full-sized keyboard with the numeric keypad.

That _would_ be nice, but it wouldn't really suit me.

Even if I liked bluetooth keyboards (I don't, primarily because I find it annoying to manage the extra batteries; if there was a "recharge via USB" type option for bluetooth keyboards, that'd be different, but it seems like they all want you to do battery juggling) ... they're still too big to fit in my gadget bag. I pretty much need a folding keyboard.

Luckily, if I'm forced to use a BT keyboard, Mathias makes a BT version of their folding USB keyboard. My preference would be to keep using the folding USB one, but if I have to, I can fall back to the BT one.

The keyboard dock, though, just looks difficult/annoying on all fronts (from a mobility point of view).

Have you ever used an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. I have the first aluminum one that takes 3 batteries. I have to replace the batteries every 6-8 months.
I never turn it off either.

Are you serious that you would rather have to keep recharging via USB???? That is much more of a hassle than changing the batteries twice a year.

It would be the same "once every 6-8 months", no matter whether it's an internal rechargeable vs removable batteries, don't you think? Or, even if the charge that the internal holds is only half as long, that's every 3-4 months.

So, assuming it's only half as efficient, having to "dock it"/usb-tether-it/etc. somehow, for a few hours (over-night even) every 3 or so months ... or, heck, even every 2-4 weeks, would be MUCH more appealing to me than having to deal with removable batteries (recycling them, recharging them in an external charger, being sure I have replacements on hand "just in case", etc.) ... ever.

But, the real killer, for me, is the "not folding" part.

They do (or did), I have one in fact. It's a bit old, so I'm not sure if they still make it or not, but I'm sure you could find one somewhere. Apparently it's called Apple Wireless Keyboard A1016. http://bit.ly/aiI8GB
