They might not yet if they ship overnight express in the USA. I don’t recall the shipping service level Apple uses if the preorder originates in the USA.
I think you're right. If they are already in the US they might ship as late as Wednesday or Thursday.
For me I have ordered always at launch and it has either been overnight or second day I'm counting on second day
My shipping shows Express so I'm thinking that's probably second day Express but I could be wrong
Oh well... I try not to get too excited about these things.
I'll be doing much the same thing, just on a newer, slightly more modern device.
The M1 iPad Pro with 16GB of RAM is what I was very excited over. Files and large copy seem much improved. The next step will be the apps. I think with the M1 we should see better apps which is also exciting.
Anyone fretting about the order status/shipping times/etc
These will be very easy to source at retail stores (not just Apple) in short order.
Previous experience has shown me that it's very very often easier and less expensive to buy at the likes of Costco, Target, Staples, Best Buy, Walmart, Sams Club, etc --- or even just Apple retail stores which will for sure have stock

The space grey's went fast. I ordered mine the same day, 256gb cellular, but it's not coming until 10/6-10/13. Oh well, gives me time to see if I want the Surface Go over this.

supply will not be constrained
Historically apple doesnt ship until 2 days before ship date. People relax, you should see an update by Wednesday if your shipped date is 24th.
I truly don't expect it to ship until late Thursday night
Is that iPadOS 15? Looks awful with those narrow icons. I get almost claustrophobic watching that.
