I think everyone here has to keep in mind that 99.9% of the world has no idea what a 120htz refresh rate is. They dont know what a nit is. The don't care either. If they are buying an iPad mini they want a powerful, portable device. For $499, with 8gb of RAM and 128GB SSD, this is an amazing device. Is it a “pro” device? No. You’re not going to do “pro” work on it. There are iPads for that if you so desire at double the price. Since the first iPad mini, I have loved this device. Not everyone is a tech nerd like us. This is a great device. Enjoy it. Don’t overthink it.

6th gen, when I hear YouTuber and people here posting about jellyscroll I wanna tear my hair out. You literally have them flicking the screen up and down, while showing shooting a video in slow motion to detect it. SMH these people are too much with apparently very little problems in their lives that this is scroll crap is an issue.

Where the hell is it even relevant to flick the screen back and forth rapidly to say OMG it’s jellyscroll. Get out of here.

Haha that's soooo true. I've seen a few review videos now and every single one has to slow the video right down to prove oh lol it has Jelly Scroll still... bad Apple bad.. and I'm thinking what the... if you have to slow down the video just to see it you've got bigger problems in life!

I can tell the difference between pro motion and a 60HZ Apple screen, but I personally have never seen Jelly Scroll in an Apple device, and I don't go looking for it either.

Anyway now some decent videos of the new Mini running games have come out it seems to be a pretty good upgrade, it's more or less as fast as the newest iPhone pro running opening apps. And that's all you need. An M4 Pro is an absolute power house beast and obviously more powerful, but let's be honest, it's also way way overpowered for iPad OS. It must be an incredibly small niche of people who will use all that power, instead what they WILL use is the bigger screens and keyboard covers etc.

While you may be satisfied with your product, it's worth considering that for some users, noticeable "jelly scrolling" while using the device normally disrupts the experience. For certain individuals, this effect even causes visual discomfort.

Similarly, one can still play a computer game with screen tearing or graphic pop-ins, but it detracts from the overall experience.

The iPad Mini 6 and 7 unfortunately don’t feature high-quality displays or configurations, and Apple are fully aware of this—evident in the minor adjustments made this year to address it. However, these measures haven't resolved the issue entirely, leaving some customers to understandably choose to vote with their wallets.

I dunno if it's 99.9% (probably 70%), but I know a few avid Apple fans who can't tell the difference or don't care about 60 vs 120hz. Probably more in the minority as far as us tech geeks are concerned, but that type of user still exists.

I believe it.
I have family members that can’t tell HD from SD with movies

(I’m not joking)

Agree, also i’m loving my new iPad mini, pretty fast and it was I needed as an upgrade.
Today I modded my Backbone One so I can use with iPad mini 7 and get a great portable console too:

I think it's great too - just wish Apple had given me more of a reason to upgrade my Mini 6 after three years.
Mine had a fairly noticeable scratch across 25% of the screen (don’t let people borrow your iPad) and the battery was not great. Still above 80% but not holding a charge like it used to. Trading it in for a new mini 7 was pretty much an easy decision. They didn’t notice (or didn’t care about) the scratch when I traded it in.

The problem is the mini's screen is really weak. Even if you pick it up after your iphone you can see it has slow response rate and is just an inferior screen experience. The bigger problem for me is the battery on the mini is atrocious. Even if I dont use it for a day or two it will die if its not plugged in (Mini 6). Using it for 2-3 hours drops it to like 50%. I like my mini the most but it is a bad product. Unfortunately I dont have a choice if I want to use a small iPad. They should really make an ipad Mini pro.

For the record I bought my mini like 2 months, brand new so my battery isnt bad.

The battery in my Mini 6 is still hanging in there pretty well, but it admittedly spends most of its time as an e-reader. Not exactly battery crushing activity!

I can read for 4-5 hours and get the battery down to 10%. It used to be 8-9 hours for that.
