iPad mini has always been my favourite iPad size. I have quite large hands so I can actually palm this thing. But I may upgrade to the 10.5 Pro at some point soon, because it looks unlikely there will be a new mini and iOS 11 is slowing this thing right down. Plus I’m looking to make it so I don’t need to take my MacBook Pro to university everyday, but would want more power and a bigger screen than the mini can offer.

While I was trying to scroll down to the post that revived this necrothread I went by a post of mine predicting no iPod Touch 6th gen. (I'm glad I was wrong!) So...you never know! If Apple does, and I hope they do, puhlease, can we get a current-gen SoC?

Yeah, 3 years on you'd hope the OP found a solution.

Nope haha. I still want a handheld size tablet (not phone) from Apple. But at this point I just want the mini to continue getting updated.

They should have make 7 Inch iPad with aspect ratio of 3:2 since 3:2 is not too wide not too tall..

That's the exact size and ratio I would like as well. (But never gonna happen.)

The best "handheld" tablet is probably the Asus Nexus 7 (2013). It was the finest Android tablet ever produced, and sadly no android tablet thereafter ever got close to it.
