iPad New York Stock Levels?

Argh!

My sisters are currently in NYC. Put £500 quid into one of the bank accounts, called here and she told me Apple are out of stock!

She says she is on a waiting list, but I doubt she will get it by Thursday morning.
 
You should be able to get one. I had no problem when I went to New York at the begining of May. Just make sure you get in there early saves queing. The great thing is that it is open 24hrs.

Yeah :) Well I'm going to email the store the day before i leave for NY so that gives me at least a day in case they get one in etc :)

She was added on the list on last Monday. Today would be nine days.

Look's like I'm going to be buying a new Laptop from PC World now, her flight back to London is tomorrow evening, and it's not looking likely.

She says there are a lot of shops which have it, but are charging a premium.

I am honestly amazed that you can not buy it in New York. The problem is the same in London, NO where has it in stock unless you want to pay an extra £100 on the retail price.

The first time, I am wanting to buy an Apple Product and I can't. Fantastic.
 
WiFi only models aren't hard to come by. For 3G, you'll probably have to reserve in store. I'm quite experienced with this, as I've purchased 8 or 9 of them.

You can also try http://www.tekserve.com/ though I have no experience with them.

If all else fails, craigslist. :p

I traded up my 32GB 3G to a 64GB 3G earlier this week, the wait was one day at the White Plains Apple Store.

I'm hoping that by 17th of July, stock will be abit better!
I'm going to email the apple store under 5 different emails before I go :rolleyes:
Each 1 day ahead!
So that way I should give myself an okay allowance of time :(
 
I went to the Soho and they had stock of every model except for the 16GB versions.

I know tekserve has larger capacity models as well but no 16GB.

I went to the Apple Store Soho today and they told me they did have but only for people on the Reserve List...

Looks like stores are getting more stock in, as bestbuy had numerous stores in NY with 32gb/64gb 3g ones in stock according to their website.
I'm getting more hopeful :D

I'm in NYC right now. Got here on Monday, having spent three days in Boston.

I tried everywhere for a 32gb iPad - no joy. I finally spoke to an Apple employee whose parents are from Scotland - and he put me on a reserve list for the Florida Mall Apple Store (that was in Boston on Sunday, still no email, but I arrive in Florida tomorrow).

I also tried the Fifth Ave store - no joy, but they set my wife up with an iTunes account and reserved one for her in Florida too.

The Fifth Ave guy said the wait is about 5-10 days (up until a few weeks ago, it was 3-7 days). He says demand has increased in recent weeks for some reason.

I'm in Florida for 16 days. If I don't get one, I'll wreck the joint before I go home.

If your interested in 3G, today Tekserve in Chelsea had a few iPad 3G's 32GB...

I'm emailing them a week before I go (5th ave store said they would reserve one) and then my friend who's coming with me is going to reserve one for me about 3/4 days before we go, and were there for 5 days :eek:

What were stocks of 16gb/64gb of 3g ones like :)

I'm basically going to go for any 3g model that I can get hold of!
Hopefully there will be some 3g models in stock when I go :cool:
Btw do tekserve sell for the same price as apple??
