My issue is still Face ID when the iPad is flat on a desk (which it is 90% of the time). Tempted to just turn it off and use the passcode only for when I’m at work. It would be awesome if apple could add tilted sensors to Face ID for the next gen to accommodate.

Isn't there a second Face ID setting for a second "look", where you could hold your iPad at the table angle, register the Face ID for that?

Whos getting a bit annoyed at the slow app updates to support the 11 inch iPad? I’ve still got too many apps that do not use the full screen ratio, some video apps that have scroll bars too close to the home bar at the bottom of the screen which can make it all to easy to activate that.

Not even Google have fully sorted the YouTube app as it’s still showing the time, date and icons at the top of the screen when a video is in full screen when it shouldn’t.

Just feel like things should be a little further ahead by now.
Thats not apples problem. It’s the devoplpers of the apps job. Chillll these things happen whenever there is a new size ipad release.

My biggest annoyance right now is the Alto's games frame-rate is bad on the new iPad Pros. And they are some of my favorite games. :(

I didn’t say it was Apples fault, just seems developers aren’t making the effort this time around.

I understand he OP's issue and agree some apps are not implemented well, but FYI the Amazon Prime Video app was updated yesterday. I had to delete my old one and download again to get the update, but the new one looks great.

I know this thread is about the 11, but my Amazon Prime Video app still show the date and time on my latest model 12.9 you would think Amazon would update for the 12.9 since they did for the 11.

Did the Youtube update from a few days ago fix the problem with the time showing up when in fullscreen?

I have one, it was nothing like this.
Every time the screen size drastically changes, apps need to be updated. Some are slow, some are immediate, some don't ever get updated. And since the iPad is not as hot of a commodity as the iPhone is, you'll see apps updating a bit slower. It's a developer issue and has nothing to do with the iPad itself. The title of the post is gratuitous.

There were a lot of iPhone apps that took freakin' forever to get updated for the X. And you're right, user demand for iPad apps is nowhere near as great.

I'm actually shocked by the number of "universal" apps that present a crappy, undersized, portrait-only UI on iPads. Still. All. These. Years. Later.

Yes, it is fixed as of today.

Finally, but they decided to replace it with this:

This YouTube iOS team are muppets.

my major reason why I upgraded to the 12.9" model. i originally had the 10.5 and upgraded the 11". I have zero patience waiting for devs to update their apps to be compatible with the new aspect ratio.

That made me laugh, but I shouldn't, because it seems to be true, but you have to wonder: how is that possible?

No idea, I mean with that particular bug on the bottom with the home bar covering the text of the icons, the amount of testing would be open app on new iPad, look at screen, does it look ok, no, don’t release this version.

The game works fine on my system, a 11 inch iPad. How do you determine frame rates using iOS.?

Just fired Alto’s Odyssey back up. The frame-rate is really dreadful, - so dreadful I’m amazed you think it works fine. It’s like the frame-rate is smooth with real chugging and stuttering going on, - most easily seen on foreground objects, but in general, too. I’m not sure why it runs so badly, but apparently nobody seems to really care, which is a shame.

Guess you’ve tried the usual of force quitting the app, and all other apps and rebooting the iPad?
