the latest ipad is good for middle school or low budget audience.

They will be coming up with a new pro aiming at college and buyers with higher requirements. This will come up by June to allow students to buy/get accustomed to by September.

The new ipad will be a true PC replacement because it will also come with iOS11 which would offer a real boost in productivity as ios9 did.

In regards to hardware we expect:
- 10.5 in bezelless screen (the smallest screen to allow a comfortable reading experience of pdfs without the need for zoom or panning)
- true tone
- 4 gb of ram
- screen ppi similar to ipad mini 4 and resolution similar to ipad pro 12.9
- waterproof (possibly)
- dual camera (almost certain) with longer distance between cameras to maximize depth perception
- new smaller pencil with extra functions (rotate left or right to get left or right click mouse functions)
I like your thinking. Except for the waterproofing, I think you're on target. Is 128GB a sweet spot? I'll buy as soon as it's released.

I personally think there's a massive gap in the lineup between the iPad mini and the Pro.

I want something like an iPad mini with pencil support.

I don't want to pay about the same as I'd pay for a Macbook Air.
