For me it was about a day. It was in 'processing' for like 5 though. Apple/UPS seem to be extremely inconsistent with the shipping and processing of orders. Bought mine on the 19th and still waiting for it. Granted there's the freaking end of the world going on currently so overall it's to be expected but still can't help it, very impatient!

Ok hopefully mine will ship tonight then. At least I’m closer to China than the rest of you, so it should reach my hands 12-24 hours after shipping 🤞🏻🤞🏻
And I know what you mean re: patience. I have almost lost mine because I’m so excited! Perhaps a bit less so because of the confirmation that this is an incremental update and that something better is 12 months away (pandemic permitting), but I’m updating from an iPad 2 (yep! You read that right - and the damn thing still works! You can’t kill it!), so really, whatever I get will be faster and better than what I have 😂😂

Thought I was bad coming from a ipad 4, I will definitely notice a difference 😂. Looking forward to it though, should be a big jump all round with new hardware and ipad os

I ordered mine on the 20th. Shipped on the 24th and it's been stuck in transit in China for a week! I'm in Australia.

Update: Rang Apple Customer Service, due to the coronavirus situation, all outward-bound shipments from China are halted because the cargo is usually delivered on passenger planes. They couldn't give me an ETA so my shipment is stuck indefinitely in China until further notice... Great... I can't even refund this because the iPad has to be returned to Apple before they can process a refund

I have read where people have had their's come from Sydney, did you have it engraved?

I ordered a silver 128gb 12.9 on March 27th. Just got an email saying it shipped, it had just been saying processing until now

I think my heart just broke a bit - I’m in Sydney too. The Apple Pencil has shipped and is sitting in the depot at Botany but I got a message stating the pencil would be delayed by 2 business days. The depot is 5 mins from my house with the current traffic.
My iPad is still ‘preparing to ship’ - for the second day now. I guess I may not get it. I know cargo is still getting in - the government has tried to keep trade moving by assisting Australian businesses shift cargo in lieu if pax flights, but I wonder if things will be halted because of a recent incident where Chinese sea cargo was refused by wharfies. They may want clarification that things will be accepted in Australia upon arrival before sending things now - regardless of how it's sent.

Well... sounds like the best case scenario is always 9 days?

2 to ship, 2 to Hong Kong, 2 to Taiwan, 2 to Anchorage, 1-2 from Anchorage to where ever you are?

I know that's still crazy fast for the other side of the planet, but I do wish I'd done curbside pickup from some place local. :(

12.9 Space Grey 128 Wifi, no engraving, to Ontario, Canada.

At least it gives me something to look forward to in this vast bleak stuck-at-homeness. (Looking forward to spending the vast bleakness tooting around on the iPad rather than refreshing this dumb shipment page, though!)

To recap, I ordered both an Apple Pencil 2 and an 11" iPP 256G wifi through Amazon Prime on March 30 (Monday). The Pencil was projected to be delivered tomorrow (Friday), but it arrived today! (Thursday). The iPP was projected to be delivered on the 4th (Saturday) and tracking says it has now been shipped out of Florida as of this morning. So, with luck, it will arrive Saturday as promised (or with unbelievable luck it might arrive Friday, but I'm not holding my breath for that). Sorry to hear of people's delays and issues who ordered from Apple.

So I am in Australia as well I have got my smart pencil and smartfolio cover delivered so far but the ipad has been sitting on "preparing for shipping" since two days. I have already been charged for ipad by apple online sydney, does that mean it's already shipped from Sydney, just hasn't been updated on the site? It sucks having the pencil and case without the ipad. I think Apple should have suspended even online deliveries as soon as they were uncertain with regards to shipping. Also anyone know if deliveries by Apple happen on weekends in Aus?

I am in the EXACT same boat. When it says 'prepared for shipping', the iPad is still in China. Generally the bulk of our cargo arrives on passenger planes, however with these not arriving at all from some locations, or arriving in very small numbers now due to the coronavirus, this has slowed things down significantly. The hold up for us now is awaiting availability of a cargo plane. Because of more demands on cargo only shipments, this has resulted in logistical changes with how Apple normally send things. Apple have stated there is a 48 hour delay on shipments because of this.

Once the item states it has 'shipped', this means it has been lodged in the courier's system prior to pick up in China. A short time later it will be picked up from the warehouse in China and it will make its way to Australia first via truck, and then via air. All deliveries in Australia are managed by TNT, who deliver Mon-Saturday.

Having said that, we won't get our iPads this weekend - as I stated, they're still in China. If you're desperate, I know DJs just got stock. You would then have to call Apple and cancel your order, or wait for it to be delivered and send it back to them for a refund. I tried to contact DJs but gave up after being on hold for over 1 hour, and their online enquiries system crashed. Mine says delivery by Thursday. I've gone this long without one - another 6 days won't kill me!

Dear all, I'm from Italy and orderd on Saturday 28th.

On monday I had the tracking on to "ready to ship" and still waiting. I know the situation here is awful but do you think it will be delivered on time or at all? It says estimated delivery on 6th-8th April

Mine is in Zhengzhou now. If my delivery goes anything like kamidgs, hopefully I will get it on Monday or Tuesday! Fingers crossed.

I am so grateful for forums like this so I can take a bit of the 24/7 obsessing off the people I am stuck with 24/7.
