Eh, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's more disappointing that it arrived smashed. In any case, Apple doesn't control any of that, the delivery system does, and they've got a lot to deal with right now.
If you contact Apple about the smashing I bet they could expedite you a new one (within current global conditions, obviously.)
