Eh, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's more disappointing that it arrived smashed. In any case, Apple doesn't control any of that, the delivery system does, and they've got a lot to deal with right now.

If you contact Apple about the smashing I bet they could expedite you a new one (within current global conditions, obviously.)

Id like to bet that the delays are so long due to the  Face Shield.

They aren't shipping those yet, though? I don't think? My shipment was delayed three days before sending, but since then it's all been UPS. *Shrug* Tons of extra stuff to ship now that people can't go out and buy things in stores. Lots of things more important that consumer electronics. I'm sure a lot of medical supplies are manufactured in China.
 
Anyone else getting their iPad via Chase Ultimate Rewards? I ordered my 1TB/Silver/WiFi on Sunday, March 22 and it has not started shipment. I'm posting so that anyone else considering using these types of points will have info since I'd never before ordered anything from them. Getting status (done only once) at the pre-ship phase means that I have to call a number and wait to speak to a rep - there's no online status available.

Personally, if I were to do it again, I would get cash for the points and buy from pretty much any other regular retailer 😖.

Doesn't it come in a box? How did you know it was smashed, I don't get it?

Sorry, maybe it's different in the US, but I live in the EU and would have no way of knowing whether it was smashed or not. You just receive a box with the original packaging inside and then you open it to see the product. But you have to sign first in order to receive the box, and the postman or delivery guy is long gone after you open it...
 
You need to remember all of china was shut down on the 4,5,6 due to some holiday so that’s why they sat
 
I just ordered mine from Verizon this evening. 11in, Space Grey, 256gig, and the Apple Pencil. Came out to getting the Pencil for free. Traded in a iPad 6th Gen. Should be here Friday Morning. Can not wait. After my other one died. Kinda glad now that it did.
 
In an interesting turn of events overnight, my shipment is back to "Reschedule Delivery" status with UPS. I also got an "In transit" message tagged to ZhengZhou, even though it arrived in Incheon yesterday. Have to think it is just UPS ridiculousness and that it is actually well on its way to the states, but it doesn't give me warm and fuzzies.

Apple site still showing Friday delivery.

At least its’s moving! Mine has only received a pick up scan and that was on the 3rd :(

Exact same thing happened to me. I have no idea when its going to arrive at this point. Its odd that it left China, went to Korea, and then went back to China. Something is definitely off. Mine was scheduled to arrive tomorrow so hopefully it does

So the website updated again. No more "Delivery Rescheduled" status -- now it's "In Transit" and shows another Departure Scan out of China. So weird! I just want it this weekend so I can set up my work situation from home on Monday.

I’ve read on many sites who you don’t want to use your points on items like iPads. Especially with Chase Ultimate, you are much better off using the multiple for travel expenses, which is hard to do today considering Covid-19...
 
Mine is going back and forth between China to Korea now. UPS had scheduled the 8th, then the 10th, now in transit again with no delivery date.

After hanging out in Zheng Zhou for a couple of days, mine has gone from the 10th to "Rescheduled delivery". Apple is saying next Tues.
 
My UPS tracking shows finally my ipad pro reached to Louisville, UPS World Port, which is not that far from Toronto (which is only 1.5 hour distance by flight) .

but still the delviery estimate shown as next Monday 13th according to UPS tracking. I wonder why....

I made my order on March 27th.. it is has been longest 2 weeks in my life. I spent so much - $$ 2300 and gratification is so delayed ...
 
Yes, they were great about canceling a trip I planned. I didn't see myself doing any traveling after COVID-19 swept the globe.

I haven't had a delivery date on UPS since it arrived in ZhengZhou on the 3rd. Apple still says Tuesday. Really bad timing with the Chinese holiday last weekend and the Canadian holiday this weekend.

My pencil is coming in today! I will glue my pencil/case/screen protector together and pretend there is an iPad inside, like a shut in weirdo.
I’ve had my folio and pencil since the 25th, which makes the wait for the iPad seem so much longer.
