iPad Pro 9.7 Smart Keyboard Day of Availability

As an FYI, I found it helpful to use the chat function on the website and they can check inventory we can't see. Same with calling the store and getting routed to the operators.

Yep, I've tried both options. Yesterday they told me they had some in stock and I drove over there and there was nothing. Last night I tried the chat option and she said that she didn't have access to stock levels.
 
This always happens EVERY single time. I am frustrated. I went to the Apple Store two blocks from my office yesterday and today. Yesterday, I went during lunch and I was told they had some available before I got there. Thus, I went there this morning right before the store was open and waited. No luck. The site says now the order will be shipped between 15-22. I first placed an order with B&H and there is no update there. :(
 
Looks like what a pp said about Best Buy is true, they're showing Tues. delivery if you pay for express shipping. And they will ship it to a store by April 7. So why is Best Buy getting them before the Apple stores?

It looks like Best Buy stores will have them on the shelf on April 13th but if you order online express shipping gets it to you by April 5th.

Not sure why Best Buy has stock.
 
Yea I keep checking because I wanted to use a leftover Apple gift card for this, but it looks like the stores don't have them and the shipping is 1-2 weeks, so I went ahead and ordered and will wait I guess.
 
Ditto. I'm hoping Apple stores will have the keyboard shipped to local stores earlier than the online orders.

I work about a couple blocks from Bellevue Square Apple Store in Washington. I have been there 3 times since the iPad Pro 9.7 came out. I also used the Chat feature to check the availability - no luck. Today, I went there during lunch, and also stopped at both AT&T and VZ stores. No luck :( I want the damned smart keyboard!

Picked up my 9.7 Pro this past Friday and the smart keyboards were out of stock. Checked early yesterday morning and most of the stores in the DC metro area had them available, so I ordered quickly for in-store pickup. Checked today and all stores are back to "ship to store". Not to rub it in, but I'm enjoying the keyboard quite a bit. Though, I do wish the $149 included coverage for the back of the IPP.

That's no fair! That keyboard was mine! Lol
 
In the UK, John Lewis have them in stock now.
.. quicker than the 1-2 weeks quoted from the apple store!
 
I can't rationalize paying $200 for the keyboard and back cover, but respect those that do and or need it.

Neat design, none the less :) Love my 256GB 9.7 Pro.

Me too.

I looked every day starting last week as all they had was the 12" version.
Yesterday I checked about 3pm and they were showing as in stock. I waited until I got home to order it as I was using a gift card towards the purchase and didn't have it at work with me.

I was able to order about 5.45pm last night for collection today (I'm typing on it now :) )

It does look like they are out of stock already which is a shame. Back to the 1-2 weeks from Apple.
 
Finally, my order with B&H has been shipped. I do not expect to receive the Smart Keyboard till next Monday or Tue :(
 
I've been checking the app multiple times a day for one to show up for in-store pickup in Phoenix and this afternoon one finally did at the Biltmore store. Only a week after it was released so that's not to bad. I was hoping and got lucky that it was sooner than just ordering online. I think it was odd the iPad Pros themselves were readily abundant but the keyboard was not. I held off getting the iPad until I could get the keyboard and pencil with it. For me, it was the total package that made it worth the upgrade and I didn't feel like doing it unless it was complete. Good luck to anyone else still waiting for the keyboard.
 
Some of the Apple stores in Florida have gotten them now for pickup, so I cancelled my shipping order and am driving an hour or so to get one.

If you think this was bad you should have seen the mess when the larger iPad Pro was launched. The keyboard and pencil were the scalper's dream on eBay, and some orders rolled over to next year before shipping from the Apple online store...
