Mine will arrive tomorrow. UPS actually received my package on Friday and it takes them so many days to scan and put that darn thing on a delivery truck. Oh well...I am so excited for tomorrow.

Lucky. Two week wait for me. Delivering to a store for local pickup would've been 3 weeks. :S

OMG I love the keyboard. It only took me less than a minute and I am typing fast now. My fingers are made for Apple products!

Ordered through Apple.com 4/5/16 and was given 4/26/16 as my delivery date. Randomly went to Best Buy's site Monday and they finally had up for order. Placed my order for next day shipping and am currently typing on my Smart Keyboard. Was also able to use my $20 BB rewards certificate to get it cheaper.

Has anyone experienced an issue with the Smart Keyboard draining the battery? I have received mine on Monday and I have noticed the battery drains about 20% within a couple hours with no use of the iPad. First, I thought my Belkin adapter was broken since I always charged my iPad overnight. This morning, I checked at 5:30 am, it was 100% before I unplugged the cable, then I put it in my gym bag and when I opened the Smart Keyboard cover for the first time at 7:30 am, the battery was 80%. It is very annoying and I do not know what to do about it given that I did not use it at all for 2 hours and the batter was down by 20%. Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

MetroCentre saying "available for pickup today" and Newcastle Upon Tyne saying "Ships to Store", probably get one next week when money comes in

Why do you think the battery drain is due to the keyboard? It may be because an app was open, or the iPad was trying to connect to an external server, wifi, or trying to download some kind of content like a podcast. Or maybe the cover didn't close completely in your gym bag and the screen was on for some time. I'm not saying the keyboard is not at fault, I'm merely suggesting that there may be other causes for the battery drain.

Have you seen this behavior repeatedly and consistently since Monday when you got it when the keyboard is attached?

This problem did not happen to me prior to the Smart Keyboard. The iPad and the Keyboard was put in a case that was so snug nothing could move. I am going to try to close all the apps to see what happened, but I do not think it is the issue.

OK. I'm receiving my keyboard tomorrow and will pay attention to the battery usage when it is attached. We can compare notes.

The odd part that I have noticed so far is that when the iPad cover is closed, and not used the battery drains. When I put my iPad on with the keyboard ready to be used on my desk for hours, the battery remains the same. I think it might be a software bug issue, but I will keep observing why it is happening this way.

Interesting, you may be right about the software bug. I will observe mine as well and report my findings.

What shows in the battery panel of settings?

I've had the keyboard cover on the whole time I've had my be IPP. I do notice that this iPad does drain more quickly than my previous iPad Air. However I am using it a lot more as it's new.

Anyone have any issues with the keyboard not recognizing keystrokes when attaching? This happens like once a week with me. When newly attached it, doesn't recognize "h" and space key. I have to reboot the iPad to correct. I will try to get to my Apple Store at some time.

Nothing relating to the keyboard. It doesn't have a battery.

Got my keyboard yesterday and am typing on it now. Works pretty good!

Like you and seatton, I am seeing a larger drain when the keyboard is attached, and it seems to occur irrespective of whether the iPad is on or not. Seems like just attaching the keyboard causes a bit more battery drain. Last night I left the keyboard cover attached and closed while out to dinner with friends. After about 4 hours, the battery was down about 10%, which is more than I would expect with the regular Smart Cover.

I've had my keyboard for less than 24 hours, so I want to monitor this more carefully.

Picking up my smart keyboard this morning at the Apple store. Looks like all the ones withing 200+ miles of New Orleans has them in stock. Funny, Best Buy says available the 21st.

Really? I thought there were small watch batteries under each key.

o_O
I can't tell if you are joking or are serious. From Apple:

The Smart Connector transfers both data and power between iPad Pro and the Smart Keyboard — no batteries or charging required. Just attach the Smart Keyboard, then start typing. And when you disconnect, an onscreen keyboard automatically reappears.

Anyway, when I draw down the battery widget, there is no entry for the keyboard. Only the iPad itself and my pencil.

I am glad I am not the only one. It does not happen every day though. It has happened to me two days out of six this week. Let's hope this will be fixed soon.

I saw this post and when I got mine today I intentionally left it off the plug to see if there was any battery drain. 3 hours later, with no use but not plugged into power, it was still at 100%.

My Apple Store gets shipments in on Saturday's. Basically, I checked the Apple Store app daily until they were in stock. Then I bought it online and went and picked it up.

[doublepost=1513439979][/doublepost]I’ve had the same problem. Last night I had 80% on my battery and when I woke up it was completely discharged. I’ve noticed the power ‘chime’ sounds sometimes when the case is on and folded up. I’ve had a case for about a year and it just started doing this within the last few months. I took it to apple and they swapped out a new keyboard after running diagnostics. Still happening. I thought it might be a settings issue so I erased everything and set it up as a new iPad and still the power drain happens. Not sure what the issue is, but today I’m going to Best Buy to look at other keyboards. I love the design, but this weird power drain is a deal killer. AppleCare couldn’t find anything wrong with either the iPad (via diagnostics) or the keyboard so it much be some kind of edge case.
