Much worse than my ipad air2 was...
Not only more fingerprints.. But they have this shiny reflective look to them...
I highly doubt this is a size illusion...
Finger Prints just look more shiny and visable.

Defiantly! I thought i was the only one haha. This has to have something to do with the material they use for the pencil as others have said.

Reaffirms a silver IPP to maybe combat some of these finger print trickery!

I wonder if some of the extra fingerprints on the Pro are attributable to how you have to hold it. With the Air, you can easily hold it on the very edges of the device, practically without touching the screen or bezel at all, because it's so light and small. But with the Pro, the extra size and weight basically forces you to place your fingers more on the bezel to properly support it.

I also agree with the other posts suggesting that the screen coating seems different between the Air and the Pro.

I don't think so. Mine is usually on it's ASK which sits on my lap nicely. The fingerprint marks are all over the screen. Swipe marks too.

It's not about there are more fingerprints because it's bigger. Of course that would be the case. It's about it seems to be a lot harder to wipe them off even with a microfiber cloth. At least in my case it is and I noticed the difference from my iPhones and other iPads from the get go.

I have noticed finger prints on mine much like any of my other iOS devices. I haven't noticed it being any worse. Just like my other devices, I keep a micro-fiber cloth handy and have no trouble cleaning them up pretty easily.

I've owned the original iPad, an iPad 3 and an iPad Air 2. I've, had 5 iPhones. I've had the 9.7" iPad Pro for three days and the finger prints are driving me crazy. They've never bothered me on any of the other devices. They're also unreasonably hard to remove. I'm considering returning it and going back to th air 2.

I had to get a dedicated micro fiber cloth that works quite well. All other type of attempts were more difficult than I remember on any other iDevices.

Same. I usually have to wipe it down a few times a day. I found some really good microfiber cloths (Norwex brand?) and never have to use water or sprays to clean my displays anymore.. just a little breath to fog it up sometimes.

Thanks for tip. I'm coming across the same issue and I noticed it was more of an issue on the iPP 9.7 compared to my iP6+ and iPad mini. Beyond the oil film on the screen, pencil does not work accurately. I did not want to get a screen protector but I may not have a choice :(

Agreed. I have the same issue. It might be because they are using a different coating to ensure latency between screen and pencil is excellent.

The latency between the screen and Pencil has nothing to do with any coating. It's the variable refresh rate that makes it have very little latency (it can go up to 240Hz when the Pencil is active on the screen)

Is it just me or is iPad Pro more prone to fingerprints than other iOS devices?

Not only does mine seem to pick up fingerprints alot, but it is also harder to wipe them off with a microfiber cloth than my 3rd gen iPad or iPhone 6s. One or two wipe on other iOS devices gets rid of the fingerprints, but on my IPP wiping just smears it more until I apply some force on the cloth to really get it off.

Is it just more noticeable because of the large glass size, or could it be that they had to forego the oleophobic coating because of the Pencil?

I installed a Zagg glass screen protector on day one and have had no fingerprint issues.

OP, I recommend you get this product which comes with a special MicroFiber type cloth, and a special spray that:

RESISTS FINGERPRINTS
Our natural proprietary polymer formula literally repels smudges and fingerprints.

SAFE FOR ALL SCREENS
Alcohol and ammonia-free, nothing in this bottle will damage your screens.

ANTI-MICROBIAL CLOTH
Our ultra soft, W! Microfiber cloth leaves your devices hygienic.

NON-TOXIC
Non-hazardous, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, we never test on animals.

$10.00 for a pack of the spray & cloth that lasts quite a while. I bought mine at Best Buy, however, I do believe Wal-Mart sells it, and I see on their website now that Bed Bath & Beyond sells it. If you cannot find it around where you live, just order it online. I love the stuff! It helps with the fingerprints since their spray helps repel fingerprint smudges and what not. I NEED it because I am OCD about my devices being clean, not just in the sense of a clean fresh screen, but a germ free screen as well. Good Luck! http://www.whoosh.com

PS: I agree with you, out of all the iPads & iPhones I have had, my IPP 9.7" gets fingerprint crazy, and shows others random crap that I do not even know where it comes from. Just stuff in the air I guess, and just think...we are breathing that crap into our lungs.

So I believe I have solved the fingerprint madness on my ipad pro. I recently purchased the product that the above poster mentions called Whoosh. I got it on amazon rather cheap. One important thing for me was that I did not follow the directions entirely. It says to spray on the cloth and wipe the screen. While this seemed to help, it did not do too much. Then I tried something a little different and the results this far have been amazing.

WARNING: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION

So, what I did was i buffed all of the fingerprints and oils off the screen with a microfiber cloth. I then sprayed whoosh all over the screen until it was sufficiently wet, which required numerous sprays. I then let the ipad sit and let the whoosh simply evaporate without wiping the screen down. Once the screen was totally dried (you can see the speckles everywhere) I then buffed out the dried material with a microfiber cloth until the screen was clear again. This takes a good deal of work and buffing. Once everything was buffed out, i repeated the whole process one more time.

Boy oh boy, it is prefect to me now. Fingerprints don't show nearly as bad as they did and they wipe off significantly easier than they did on an untreated screen. The screen is a lot smoother feeling too. The only thing that is a drawback is that the untreated screen felt great with the pencil, whereas now it is more noticeably slippy.

I highly recommend you try this method, but again do so at your own risk. If it starts dripping down into the bezel or speaker ports, wipe it off.

So happy now.

Funny, but I get less fingerprints on my 9.7 iPad Pro than on any other iPad and I've had every generation. My Air 2 seemed to get the most.

Based on this, I also tried Whoosh - got it on-line at Amazon. I'm trying it out on my Air 2 and it actually seems to work a lot better than anything else I have tried (e.g., Monster ScreenClean, lens cleaner, jsut a microfiber, etc). Works well at cleaning and also seems to leave a very smooth feel that isn't so conducive to fingerprints. So far, I like this stuff.

Agreed. Just like my iPhone you need to occasionally clean the screen. My Pro model iPads do not seem any more prone to printing than my Air 2.

Hopefully you guys using whoosh don't have the issue another member had they said it removed the oleophobic coating altogether. Apple used to sell the stuff but they pulled it from the stores.
