iPad Pro HDR questions...

I meet the requirements and not seeing HDR from Netflix or iTunes.Unless its just incredibly subtle of course. Maybe someone will do a comparison sometime if they claim to see the difference.

I definitely saw the difference in iTunes. On Netflix I have not come across a series that run HDR that I can tell. Here is a comparison phone from my MacBook 2016 Touchbar Pro, and iPad Pro 10.5 with Furious 7

The iPad version is in Dolby Vision. I can clearly tell the difference.

Since updating to 11.1 beta on my 10.5 I’m getting a Dolby vision sign on hdr stuff using Netflix. Still haven’t got anything to compare it too though, but it does look really good.

So maybe Apple needed to do something on their end in 11.1 to make it work on Netflix.

I'm sure you haven't tested a Sony ZD9 or a Samsung KS9800 with FALD. They produce excellent inky blacks but yes OLED wins here. But for HDR brightness also matters a lot and that's where OLEDs don't shine. They are less bright than LCDs and at high luminance levels colors become washed out.

As an OLED owner and an L D owner I call BS on any “QLED” Or other LED producing inky blacks.

In a bright room LCD is obviously better. The closer you get to movie theater conditions, the better OLED gets.

Blacks are easily black enough to appreciate hdr on the new pros. Same with most of the lcd 4K tv’s.

OLED screens make the screen on the pros look whatever. I am writing this on a 10.5 pro and I have an OLED tv too. In two years the pro will certainly be OLED and you’ll wonder how you ever accepted anything less.

I'm on 11.0 on my 10.5 Pro and the badge is showing there, compared to my 10.3.3 on my Air 2.

That being said, I watched that side by side and there wasn't any difference.
