In general, no. Its just more of a peace of mind that if something happens, its the screen protector that cracks rather then the main glass.

if you use the iPad as a laptop, you'll never get fingerprints. Just dust.

It might depend on the company. I've had the Spigen Screen protector since day 1. No issues with Apple Pencil.

Crap, I tried to install a glass screen protector on my iPad yesterday. What I didn't know was there was a stray cat walking 2 blocks away and his hair transported via a wormhole to the screen on my iPad just as I was lowering the glass to the screen. zeropad thanks for the suggestion of the Zagg XTR3 I just ordered one.

I recently bought the M4 and decided Not to use a screen protector. I have to clean the surface often. But it is so much better without one.

I just put a Spigen Paperfeel (I think that’s what it’s called) glass screen protector on my 11” M4. It’s quite nice.
