So enlighten me why a mobile OS NEEDS 2GB or even 4GB then...
copy paste from one browser windows to another without refresh is due to memory management, the OS is bloated with pointless features eating up the RAM.

Download something like smart memory and take a look whats been used..

That's where your problem comes from.

It couldn't possibly be that the OS has become more complex, does more things, and even the web browser does massively more things than ever. No, to you they're pointless features simply because you don't personally use them. Refreshing web pages couldn't have anything to do with the way iOS handles RAM to try to preserve battery power when compared to laptops that are now mostly battery.

The flaw being in your assessment that it takes more energy to reload data into memory in the first place than keep it there. But you'd rather have little used features active all the time consuming RAM that could be used for other things? fix the bloat and the memory management then increased RAM wouldn't bee needed..

I'm not comparing anything to the Air and have never done, so i have no clue why you have gone there... my only comment is around how crazy the name is and that size doesn't make a device pro hence the sarcasm of the " 13" MBA pro". I'm talking only about the 2 so called pro devices.... with A9X, and the previous poster was correct on reflection, size could mean "better", but could equally mean "worse" or even just the "same" when it comes to the screen, however the 9.7 screen has better software features so i guess that needs to be pro pro?

The point is it doesn't matter if it's called Pro, it doesn't matter if the they called it the iPad Executive or Architect or Banana. It's just a name, worse, it's a marketing tool.

Named like pizza: small, medium, large?

I like this one. iPad Hawaii L-Size with hand-tossed crust :p
Note to myself: don't post while hungry.

On the topic: not really confusing me too much. "Pro" as marketing gag, I mean tag. And soon we all will gotten used to it saying iPad Pro 12" or iPad Pro 9" (like in MBP area and soon MB area, if rumors still stand)

That's just completely wrong. And frankly shouldn't be allowed, I know it'd be ok for some people. But really, pineapple on a pizza just makes me want to gag :D

I agree. I know many compare macbook pro with different screen sizes, but the iPad Pro original angle was the size. Like if a macbook pro was originally launched only as a 17 inch laptop claiming the size was a big factor, then later getting 15 and 13 versions it would be confusing too. If they were launched at the same time maybe it wouldn't be as weird.

OS X has no issues running multiple apps side by side and not refreshing the browser window if you jump between apps... so yes, VERY serious. with 2GB i can run multiple VMs..

OS X sucks on 4gb let alone 2 with the only exception being if it's on a machine with an SSD so it can read and write swap faster.

Certain people might get the wrong idea

I think that was the point.

Am I the only one who is now more confused when people are talking about the iPad pro, is it the 9.7" or the 12.9"?

I think Apple erred in naming it only the iPad Pro. I think they should have made it a bit more unique somehow while still calling it the iPad Pro.

I know the MacBook comes in two flavors, 13" and 15" and maybe I need to give it some time, but it seems more confusing with the iPad to have two products using the same name

Shouldn't be confusing. Why does it matter which size screen someone is talking about when they say iPad Pro? It doesn't.

So clearly the difference IS the memory management...
Both on flash and iOS sucks. Don't forget the OS X version is running a full and not a lite version of the app!

It’s even better (worse) now. :)
