They hold them for a delivery day so people won't complain others got them first. So the 21st is the earliest unless there's a mistake. Of course Best Buy and others are weak links in this scheme. :D

Excellent. Even tho I am staying on my 2020 IPP I am always excited to see new tech and capabilities. Looking forward to WWDC and seeing if there are any major changes to iPadOS.

Me too! I have the 2018 IPP, I can't wait to see what the new OS has in store

So maybe this is a theory:

US customers get shipping updates because China sends to them directly.
EU and Australia customers might get a shipping update when the goods get distributed from within the continent. Like theres an extra hub or two.
Also US customers have a different SKU because they have mmwave modem (which other countries have not). It’s possible that non-mmwave iPad Pro will ship a little bit later. Of course not every iPad Pro will be cellular, but this may explain in part the different timelines

In Toronto here and mine says processing still and its for the 256 model. So will see. I'm backing up my 1st gen ipad pro 12.9 to give it to my senior parents to fight over  since haven't used the ipad in the last few weeks. Also sucks apple pencil 1 does not work on new ipp21.

curious for others if they used screen protectors, how will that affect mini led back lights etc..or is the glass on the top, same as older gen iPad and it's just back lighting that changed in one of the layers below the glass.

Sounds likely yes, my confirmation email arrived 6 min. after pre-order opened up and I’m within EU and my order is still only on second step (processing)

I’ve got a PaperLike ready to pop on mine.

I also have a 1TB ordered (still can't decide although the 256GB is probably more than enough for me (but 16GB RAM?!)). I have just noticed tonight that the shipping date for that has been brought froward from July to June 14. Could this be a case of people cancelling their 1TB orders?

I ordered the 1TB while I was deciding and thought (and still do (I think?)) if to get that or the 256. If the date gets even closer I might consider the 1TB.... It's £550 more than the 256GB here in the UK, but if I keep for 2 years it doesn't seem that much extra? Still unsure. Any thoughts?

I would stick with your original instinct. The extra 8GB of RAM is pretty wild. And yes — if you are planning to keep for a few years, the cost over that time period ends up being peanuts per day.

Not mine, i ordered a few mins after launch (12.9, 1tb) and got 16th of June as my date. Feels like forever away.
My iPad and iMac will arrive after launch too — so in the meantime I’ll be tying up all kinds of loose ends and finishing projects — so when they eventually arrive, my mind will be able to focus on the creative work I’ll do.

Has anyone in Australia receive any shipping update.

Mine is still showing up as processing. :(
Same here (Australia). I ordered mine within 10 minutes of apple site starting to accept orders - still say ‘Processing’. If the status doesn’t change on Monday, we probably wouldn’t get the iPad from China on the 21st… Although it is possible that Apple Australia could ship them out from Sydney later in the week and still meet the 21st.
