Of course this guy is right..I’ve said from the beginning...sidepiece doesn’t need a M1 when it’s still so limited and Apple just offloading chips and ram to make more profit.

So Apple should not have used a A14X (M1), not used 16Gb, not used a thunderbolt and not used an XDR and then it would be the perfect upgrade from an A9/10X?

PS. I did not see him use the pencil once or do any iPad specific workflows where the iPad excels. DS

We know you have said it from the beginning. You say the same thing over and over and over and over and over again.

I’m not entirely sure what your point is. You seem to be insinuating that iPads are excellent mac companions, but you appear to also think that that’s a bad thing. It is an excellent companion machine (I assume that’s what you mean by sidepiece, because sidepiece is not a real word).

Of course, you must be aware of the excellent pro creative applications that the machine runs just fine on its own, often faster than equivalents on Intel machines? You must also know, of course, that they outplay many laptops for feature wise?

So, for 1000 odd quid, you have a media consumption machine, you have a gaming machine, you have a best in class screen and pencil standalone drawing tablet with its own league of cheap pro applications, you have a capable and portable laptop computer for standard computing tasks, you have the ability to put the machine next to your main machine and use in place of a Wacom tablet, as a second screen, as a control surface?

And Apple putting their current top of the line chip in the pro version along with max ceiling of ram is to make a profit? I’m not sure you understand the concept here. You know, right, if they wanted to make only profits they wouldn’t do that…? They would put cheaper things in them and sell them at their established price. They wouldn’t give you more for the same money.

I’m entirely convinced you just don’t know how ridiculous you sound.

I get it why, and it depends on each case, in mine, is 1000 nits on HDR that I decided to buy it. there is no display in the market at that price that can hit those values. Most OLED TVs are at 700 nits, and there is a huge difference between 700 and 1000 nits. If you want to see what real HDR looks like, this is the device.

Not so much a question of “need” as far as I see it. You want the latest ipad, it happens to come with an M1 because that’s the most powerful chip Apple has to offer at this point, that’s all there is to it.

All of these "Why the new iPads suck" threads should really be rolled together into one as they tend to be very repetitive.

Tech YouTube has cottoned on to the theme and has seemed to have produced a lot of this in the last 3 days. The algorithm has suggested a number of them to me when browsing YouTube, so there’s some monetisation at stake.

The ‘iPad Pro 2021 sucks’ theme serves the purpose that the ‘iPad Pro 2021 is going to be awesome’ theme from April did. It’s all about the clicks.

They’re YouTube content creators. Of course they’re not going to ditch MacBooks for an iPad. YouTubers will be the last group on Earth to go all iPad.

Thats like a professional photographer announcing that he can’t do his job with an iPhone camera. Whereas most normal people say they don’t need a DSLR camera any more.

Agree with the video. Send Tim Cook a message with your wallet. If you want it to be a pro or name it a pro, then make it a pro. SIMPLE

Yes indeed. For real work usage, I basically have to do remote access to a real computer.

And video editing or photo editing which is why people justify the “Pro” label doesn’t make sense, since you can do those thing on a phone too.

What? You can edit a photo on a potato, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a good edit.
If you don’t know anything about subject on which you speak, then don’t speak about it. Makes you look foolish.

Go back to your real work on your real computer. Leave the toys to us who know how to use them.
