Comparing iPad Pro to Switch is like comparing apples to oranges.

The iPad can do much more things and is much more powerful but it's not exactly a console. See, the main input methods for the iPad is the touchscreen and maybe gyroscope so dev builds around this. For this reasons the best iPad games are either ports or very simple games.

On the other hand, the switch's joy-con allows for much more inputs for dev to play around. The Switch has much more high-quality blockbuster games than the iPad because that's what it's intended for. Plus you have Nintendo's exclusive AAA franchises and titles.

I own both devices and I mostly use my Switch for gaming (especially during my commute). The iPad Pro is my "gaming" backup when I'm done with my Nintendo AAA games.

let’s look at what is Lag, currently I have an 11ms ping. It takes the human body 400ms (milliseconds) to see something like a green light with your eyes, the brain sends a signal down the body to the foot to hit the gas pedal. And muscle fibers in the foot start to move that’s 400 milliseconds and those are measured in the best Pro drag racers who need to launch down the drag strip.

now apply that to a controller and a video game. Its not that bad. Heck 1 Frame of a 60 FPS video game is 16ms a lot of Pro street fighter players look at frame times. It’s even less when playing at 120FPS +

Also, I play Gears of War 5, Black Ops 4, Starcraft 2, Online, at present day. And I have no Issues with Input Lag or Latency. Yes the games are Installed locally and maybe that’s Good Enough it sure is now.

So I think the argument is false about lag and online latency, when it’s good enough now at present day, to snipe someone jumping and running away from you bullets flying everywhere and you can still snipe someone with accuracy in various shooters. Someone is gonna complain about Lag that’s it’s messing them up while platforming or jumping in story mode ?

Ah....I think I may have misunderstood your previous post. When you say Games as a Service, are you talking about subscriptions? I'm talking about game streaming, a la PlayStation Now or Google Stadia, where you are literally playing your game on a server far away from your home. The latency I'm talking about is the time it takes for your controller input to reach the server. That lag is noticeable. It feels like you are playing on an extremely slow computer when it isn't. There is a just a physical distance that is distorting the experience. I'm hoping they can overcome these obstacles, but I'm not real hopeful.

Yeah services like Google Stadia are problematic they introduce another layer of latency or lag, where a remote server is processing everything and all you are doing feeling like playing a movie on a web browser. It’s not ready yet. Maybe in 5 years or so or the next generation. Remote streaming a game feels like watching Twitch.
