I live around Wichita, KS and I think I just figured out the route it's going to take from Louisville thanks to flightstats.com.

Looks like it'll go from Louisville to St. Louis to Springfield to Wichita. And be in Wichita around 7:30am in time for deliveries.

I can't imagine the logistical nightmares of that stuff.

None the less, it looks like I will end up getting mine today! I could certainly live without it until Monday, but I certainly won't complain about today. ;)

That site says mine arrived at UPS facility as well here in Anchorage even though it just scaned an hour ago in Kentucky, could it really be here??

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 04/03/2010 1:23 A.M. IMPORT SCAN

What does this mean? And YAY!! IT FINALLY GOT SCANNED! IT'S STILL ALIVE!!

I've got that too. Unfortunately, I don't think mine will make it today :( I live in Pensacola, FL/

It means it's in the USA.

Louisville, KY is the main UPS hub for International imports. Everything goes through there and flies out tonight to your home UPS hub.

YOU WILL GET YOURS TOMORROW. Everyone please stop worrying. This is EXACTLY how it went down last year for the iPhone 3GS.

AND I'm in SEATTLE, which is a long ways from KY, and I got my iPhone 3GS right on time. And I was worried as hell.

does it say that in the info below, or just the map? if it says it below then yes, if just the map then no.

It'll make it. I had the same situation with the iPhone. I thought there was no way it would make it, but it did. Don't sweat it! UPS is very busy while you are sleeping!

How can so many of you be constantly refreshing this thread and so few of you actually reading the messages that get posted?!?!

To repeat... when I had a MacBook Pro ordered a couple of years ago, the tracking information showed it was STILL IN CHINA when I went to bed. The next morning around 7am, it STILL showed it to be in China. Yet, 3 hours later (just after 10am) my MacBook Pro was delivered.

Further, I've had other packages delivered to me and when I looked at the UPS tracking for the package, it showed it to be in another state. It was ALREADY in my hands, yet tracking showed it hundreds of miles away.

You can't rely on what the tracking information shows. Yes, most of the time it's pretty accurate. But lots of times (in my experience) it is highly inaccurate. Particular so when it's a new release Apple item.

that doesn't mean anything, my map has shown it being in my town since the day it was shipped. you need to go by the information below, not the map.

Oh I see. well, to quote a line from 'Weird Science' "Why are you messing with the fantasy? We know about the reality. Don't mess with the fantasy, okay?"

The Ipad delays thread is scaring me. He ordered within the first hour (first 2 for me) and Apple called him and said he would not get it Sat bc they were held up at customs/

Is it just me or does sending them to their destinations cities hours before scheduled delivery sound like bad logistics? What if something were to go wrong.. no time left to get things back on track. Kind of like waiting until the last possible minute to write a your term paper.

Starting just after 1am PST we're going to start seeing flights out of Louisville all over the US:

http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KSDF/scheduled?;offset=0;order=filed_departuretime;sort=ASC

Check that list to see what flight your iPad may be on.

EDIT: Yes, flight to Sac! http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS958 :D :D :D

EDIT 2: For the person looking for Anchorage flights....there's yet a 3rd flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS80

Any chance unscheduled flights go out? My iPad hit Louisville KY at 12:40am today.

Edit: and there are no flights to ATL from UPS in the next 16 hours or something...

I could have just as easily done store pickup. I'm sure they didnt chance the store shipments with this crap.

I should have clarified myself, I mean what did "Import" mean. And I knew it was in the US. LOL.

I can't sleep. :( I just keep imagining my little iPad (aka Steven), getting ready to board a plane/truck to its new home in Iowa. :)

I had mine ordered at exactly :02 after they went on sale, and I had NO issues. You posted your scan, your ipad cleared customs so what are you worried about? let him think and spread whatever he wants, but you don't need to worry about it. I bet your ipad is on the flight to Palm Beach FL before going to your home. :)
