iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

In Charlotte, NC. I know there is Saturday delivery here. There has been no update on the UPS site since an "arrival" entry at 7:39 AM this morning. Can understand being overwhelmed, but disappointed in UPS AND Apple for the lack of communication. I hope I have better luck on Monday....

9:25 PM - Couldn't take the uncertainty of a UPS delivery so my son drove to my local store and bought one for me. If UPS comes Monday, I have no guilt feelings about refusing delivery but if some poor, bedraggled and beat delivery man rolls up at midnight, I'm not sure I have the heart to tell him to "forget it".

April 4th! 12:34 AM and NO UPS!
In a city as big as L.A., it's freaking inexcusable. There just ought to be some recourse. Anyway, congrats to all you patient people. Please post back your app reviews for us poor souls.

Thought about going to the Apple Store (70 miles from me) to buy one this morning, then sell the one that hopefully delivers Monday afternoon on eBay. Well, there are currently 1,100 16GB iPads for sale on eBay. So, I was a good customer, pre-ordered, and now people are walking into stores to buy them, selling them on eBay, and probably reading this on their iPad. I am so freaking pissed, I don't even know if i want the damn thing anymore. Un-freaking-believable. Apple COMPLETELY dropped the ball on this launch.

If you decide to buy from the Apple Store, check to be sure it's open today. For example, there are 16 stores in Florida, but only 1 is open today due to Easter. I'd hate to see you make a bad situation worse by wasting such a long drive!

I will call Apple/UPS first thing Monday. Fortunately, I had signed up for an iPad class at 5PM at the Charlotte Apple Store. I get there and they have plenty so I buy a 32G from the store. I would have been livid had I not been able to purchase retail since I never heard a peep from UPS. I am really shocked at this poor service from Apple and UPS. At least an email would have been nice so that I wouldn't wasted most of my (very beautiful) Saturday hanging around the house.

It's Monday finally. No status update on UPS or iShip, but hopefully it's finally out for delivery. Fingers crossed they don't take all day to get here like they usually do. (One time they showed up in the morning, so there's precedent!)

Just spoke with UPS. They tell me that contrary to what their own website states, my iPad was not in Charlotte as indicated. I'll never know the real story. I'll just insist on FedEx next time if that is possible. No more UPS!

I did sign the release form and hang that on my door even though I am sitting 5 feet away from it all day today. Can't be too safe since it is a game of Where's iPad?

Mine did this on Saturday -it went 3 hours away from me.
I don't think my driver had a lot to deliver - they sent him off the route to go meet someone to pick it up and get it here.

You guys have to go through so much, you should get some kickback from Apple. Maybe a $50 iTunes card or something? Anyways, I got my iPad on Saturday and I have to tell you guys, it's a beautiful device and it is worth the wait! So when you finally get it in your hands, you'll know it was worth it. Good job again, keep the high hopes. ,
Anyone who didn't preorder in time and has "Ships by April 12th" have their shipping info updated to finally shipped out yet?

I followed this thread from page 60 all the way to almost 200! The community here is truley amazing and I will definelty will be coming back here next time I pre order an Apple device. You guys were able to help me on which flight I was on, I now know WAY more about UPS then I ever wanted to know, and I got to watch the drama of the Korean Flight of Doom unfold in front of me. I have to thank TechDude16 and Muhr, and everyone else for helping re-assure me my iPad would arrive. Also, for the first guy who mentioned iShip Tracking, he needs to be given an iPad for that. iShip is a lifesaver! Anyways guys, thanks so much for all your help. I'll always remember all the fun I had staying up late helping out on this forum, and speculating the flights we would be on, and refreshing the page and have 6 new posts come up in 30 seconds. Truly an amazing experience.

I found this site when I ordered the iPhone 3GS. It was the same thing, they were tracking items down to the actual UPS plane it was on! My iPhone was shipped to my AT&T store (across the street from my work) so it worked out great. This one, not so much. Best part is you can come on here and go through every possible human emotion, and you will have people right there with ya. Still waiting for my April 3rd iPad... but have folders set up for photos, have wallpapers, apps, cases, protectors... now just need the iPad!

Do you work for the Daily Breeze. I used to work for the Santa Monica Outlook before Copley decided to close it a few years after I left. Good luck with your story. I've already been interviewed by the Providence Journal about the iPad.
