iPad shipping waiting period UK

Can anyone confirm how long they had to wait for their iPads to ship?

I initially got a 16GB 3G model for launch day but decided it wasn't enough memory and then went on to order a 64GB 3G model. The order went through today and now says 'Not Yet Shipped' however, to my complete shock, estimated shipping in 2 weeks from now (July 12th) with expected delivery on the 14th. I'd like to know if anyone has ordered recently and if they had to wait that long. Is there any chance the item will ship earlier?
 
I ordered my 64GB 3G model a couple of weeks ago and it arrived within 3 days... I ordered it on the Monday and was initially quoted a 7-10 day shipping time, the next day it changed to prepared for shipment (always the US store for order status enquiries - it gives more info than the UK version) and it arrived Wednesday lunchtime. I don't know if I just got lucky, but that was my experience.

Absolutely love it - heading to the genius bar on Wednesday for a dead pixel issue - I don't know if they'll replace it or not... I hope they do as my eye keeps finding it now, but even if they don't, I'll still love it!
 
I guess July 12 is 10 business days from today. Fingers crossed that it ships tomorrow or some time soon. Thanks.
 
I posted a very similar thread last week (albeit asking before I'd ordered) and the responses were mixed. Some received theirs a week early, others maybe a day before the expected delivery date.

Pot luck I guess.
 
ordered a few days ago (32 gig wi fi) and got a two week delivery date. Still waiting.
 
Mine was a two week wait so I cancelled it and picked one up the next day from PC World instead.
 
Order placed online from Apple uk 30th June

estimated shipping 13 Jul, 2010.

estimated delivery on or before 15 Jul, 2010.


So, basically 7-10 working days......though like everyone else I'm living in hopes that I'll be lucky and get it earlier. If I keep thinking that for another 8 days it'll be the 15th and it should be here! :D (oh, I just had a horrible thought :eek: It wont be delayed, no, no 15th at the latest)

btw. I purchased the delivery tracking app for my iphone. Keep hoping that the next time I check it'll say "item shipped", but it hasnt yet. :( ......8 days to go, I'll probably check another 240 times or so before it comes. :rolleyes:

Welcome to the club. This is the second time I've gone through this for the iPad. I bought the 16GB 3G model for launch day. With all the excitement of tracking it all the way from Shenzhen, China; tracking the TNT flight through Russian airspace! This time around, it was a bit annoying that more than a month after UK release, it's still 7-10 business days (14 days in all) + 2 days for shipping. It took 5 business days to ship and another 1 day to get here (well, I'm still waiting for UPS to arrive).

I heard a doorbell ring a few minutes ago and raced downstairs to the door, only to realize if was the Royal Mail guy delivering a parcel to my NEXT DOOR neighbour! :(
 
I ordered a 16GB wifi on the 28th, with an estimated shipping/delivery of 12th & 14th July. Today on the US site it's saying prepared for shipment. Does this mean I could get mine on Friday? :D

I ordered my iPad on the 11th June using the finance option with Barclays Partner Finance.
My order is still showing as under review much to my annoyance this means that the two companies havent come to an agreement.

After some investigation it appears that Apple is not consistent when it comes to upholding these agreements resulting in the two companies agruing over when the funds are transfered.

Barclays say upon receipt of goods while Apple expects funds up front.

Bottom line is almost one month down and I dont even have a build date let alone delivery date.

How do I complain?
 
I tried to buy one in the store on Sunday, but they were obviously sold out. I was just going to order online (advertised 7-10 days shipping), but the sales person told me that if i reserved on in store i would ':rolleyes:definitely:rolleyes:' get one quicker. I assume this was on the assumption that people are reserving and not picking them up within 24hrs (after which they go to the next on the list)

I reserved on Sunday, so i'll post back how quickly i get it, although I have a feeling that i would have been better ordering online..............

Sorry if this is kinda off topic, but it may help others who are buying.

Well today (July 7, Bungie Day for all of you Halo fans) it changed to Prepared for Shipment. I dont know when it will be delivered. You guys are saying it took one day to be delivered?

Well, I ordered my MacBook Pro Custom Config'd last week, and its been in transit for about 3 days know, so that makes me think my iPad wont be delivered for at least a few days:(

But where are iPads shipped from?

Off topic, but my MBP had a delivery date of this friday but it got pushed back to monday:mad:...Well as of this afternoon, it arrived in Alaska. Do any of you think I will get my MBP before the weekend? Canada is really close to Alaska and I live in a Province close.
 
Today mine went from prepared for shipping, to shipped, and it'll be delivered tomorrow! so it's arrived like 4 days early.

Because it's shipped from a warehouse inside the UK. UK is physically small. It was only a few hours from UPS' originating depot to the destination depot. The longest aspect of the delivery was the time it took the delivery truck to make all its stops in East London before getting to my home in the late afternoon.

Just checked on my iPhone and the status has changed to "Prepared for shipment"! Checked on the apple site and nothing has changed.... :( ...I have no idea what this app knows that apple doesnt, maybe just slow to update.

Anyway, just incase things update throughout the day and it moves to shipped, I'm looking at...............Monday? Or would it be updated once in the UK, therefor maybe tomorrow, Friday? - In which case I'll have to run around like a madman to make sure someone is gonna be there all day to collect. :rolleyes:

Whatever, at least somethings happened. I wish :apple: gave a more detailed account of the process.....its amazingly annoying to be checking and checking and checking and checking and just seeing "not shipped yet".

The UK Apple store doesn't seem to show Prepared for Shipment status, either Not Yet Shipped or Shipped. If you go to the US store and check your order you should see it states "Prepared for Shipment". The iPhone app takes the information from the US order status site. You should find on the UK site that you can no longer cancel or change any details with the order.

UK orders (at least mine anyway) seem to be delivered the next working day after shipping by either TNT or UPS. In the main they seem to be shipping from within the UK.

My order changed to Prepared for Shipment in the morning and shipped in the evening the same day arriving the next day.

Hope that helps.

I spoke to Apple earlier as I needed to make sure my card was ok (new card arrived) and thought I would ask about where it would ship from - Hinckley in Leics. He also said that delivery date would most likely come forward
 
@tails101: It helped a great deal...and is exactly what seems to have happened. (apart from the tomorrow delivery...YET!) :D

I have done my best to make sure someone is around for collection, with my luck it'll be in that 5 mins that nobody is there! Weekends, (and the excruciating wait for the "next working day") seem to have plagued me for years.....this will be a pleasant change. :cool:
