@tails101: It helped a great deal...and is exactly what seems to have happened. (apart from the tomorrow delivery...YET!)

I have done my best to make sure someone is around for collection, with my luck it'll be in that 5 mins that nobody is there! Weekends, (and the excruciating wait for the "next working day") seem to have plagued me for years.....this will be a pleasant change.

Hiya, I just called the PCWorld customer services, the order has gone through ok, payment has been taken, they are just sorting out delivery, was told that it will be DHL for delivery, and that we will get tracking number, I ordered mine thursday at 6:48, received the same email you did, still waiting on the next email, was told that email will come today (friday) or monday, depending on DHL cut off time.

Keep me informed if you get your email...and i'll do the same

this is gonna be a slow weekend...come on iPad...

Thanks RaiSensei - nothing for me yet guess will get something on Monday though I ordered before 12pm so theoretically should be in same time frame as you. Might give them a phone.

I've got a Nice 2 Day Training Course for Work to go to in a few weeks, followed by a Whole Week Training Course, both based in Reading, and i'm in leicester, so my employer is paying for train to reading and also a nice hotel for the duration of the training... iPad on the train i'm thinking !!!

Just called and guy didnt seem to have on his system -he said it could take 24 hours to go through. Lets hope it is dispatched tonight also. Have ordered the 32gb 3G one - there is 64GB 3G version in local PC World store which is v tempting but told hubbie already that this one only cost £500!!

Mainly ordering for my hols in September - have a long haul flight and this will be more manageable than my macbook - though think will use most nights of sofa too. But I really want NOW to play with over the weekend!! Only decided to get one 2 weeks ago and ordered a 0% credit card to purchase - had 7 day wait for that to arrive before could order adn am not a v patient person which I decide I want something!!

I was gonna leave it at that......Just saying, I received my iPad!! 4.30 the UPS van came, 4 bleedin' 30! Always lands between 11 and 2, so I had given up hope.

Anyway, I've just plugged it into the charger, as I'm still at work....sure I'll be posting about some issue or other before long but until then - it looks lovely, no external defects that I can see and screen seems fine, (although its just the black screen with itunes on it).

I thought I was the only person that did things like that... This is exactly how I've ended up purchasing mine... Funnily enough, it was also a long haul flight that persuaded me to get one. I'm off to Malaysia in October and last time I took Air Asia X they didn't have enough entertainment units and it was the most boring 12 hours of my life... never again!

BTW how do you have the apple store app to check your order? I tried but told US market only.

I may be wrong but I figured he meant the iPhone/iPad Delivery Status App that you can buy.

Still waiting for my iPad camera kit to move from Not Yet Shipped... The store says it will ship by the 26th July (ordered on the 15th June) but I'm really hoping for an early despatch as I'm not a patient person on things like this!

I was so pleased mine came via TNT... UPS always deliver really late to work whereas TNT are usually in the morning!

it should be fine, when i talked to PCWorld Customer services again, they said that iPads ordered today before 12, should be sent out for delivery on friday or during the weekend, i was told that i would get mine on Monday or Very Latest Tuesday Morning...

I'm off to Malaysia in October and last time I took Air Asia X they didn't have enough entertainment units and it was the most boring 12 hours of my life... never again!

Haha - we're going to Asia too - have a 12 hour flight to Bangkok then about another 4 hours to Bali. No seatback tvs on the first 12 hour leg and travelling through the day! Have done the Bangkok trip twice once without seatback tv's (Thai Airways) so bought a macbook (nice excuse) and once with tv's (Air France) - but still took the macbook! Really like the idea of the ipad as my luggage is never light though if I also download some books it will be even lighter this year


Well i got a call yesterday from PCWorld for a random security check! Think it was because I have different delivery address - getting it sent to my work as they have 24 hour reception to get deliveries signed for - always very handy. They checked all my details and then about 10 mins later got confirmation e-mail. Am pinning my hopes on getting it on Wednesday Still not had any other e-mails yet though.

I ordered mine online and got put on the priority waiting list at the apple store in Aberdeen on saturday 10th July and online order is expected to ship on the 26th, but if the apple store in Aberdeen gets it in before it ships then I can cancel the online one and collect in store

I think unless you fly Qantas, Singapore etc with state of the art in flight entertainment with 100's of movies to puck from, you're much safer with your own entertainment system!

Air Asia X are great though - especially as my flight cost me less than £300... If you can get a bargain and have an iPad definitely worth looking at!

I placed a very similar order and everything shipped as one once the iPad was in stock... For what it's worth, my iPad shipped two days after ordering even though it originally quoted the 7-10 day timescale. I think it just depends when supplies arrive!

Air France did have the full entertainment system but Thai airways is nicer service and cheaper this year - and we don't have to go via CDG! Great flight prices though - think we were about £800 to Bali!! They have sometimes have horrific queues at immigration in Bali so if I still have battery power I can always watch a movie in the queue.



So am waiting on ipad (which decided to get instead of new iphone) and walked into O2 yesterday and had a play of the new iphone and I must have one!! The screen, the camera, the video - it amazing!! At least I can recycle my 3GS for the same price as the new one and come out cost neutral. but it means I can't drop my tariff again for 9 months - oh well so what
