Was in the Troy, MI Somerset store on Monday about 3PM, tons of lookers. The sales guy was talking and checking stock for another guy- stated the were out at that time. Noted about daily shipments of various numbers and variations. Made note that they generally were gone about as fast as they can take them out of the shipping box.

I finally have enough money saved to buy an iPad and I called all three Apple stores in Orlando and none of them have any in stock. I also checked Best Buy's website, and they too have none in stock. Oh well.

I'm going to run by Florida Mall on my way into work this afternoon. Hopefully they have some in stock.
Got mine in Altamonte at the end of last week. Try earlier in the day, as they get shipments daily... for everything except that darn case!
I was at the Jacksonville Apple Store a couple of days ago picking up my new MBPro i7 and they were selling the iPad like hot cakes. I asked the salesperson if they still had plenty and he said a VERY large shipment arrived the day before and they had more than enough to supply the demand.
Are these selling out because people are buying them to ship overseas and make a profit? NONE of the apple stores or best buys in my area have them in stock.
I reserved mine Monday and just got the e-mail today that it is ready for me to pick up.... too bad I'm in class

I am visiting PA next week. They are out of stock now and dont have a US address to post to.
The one in Pentagon City still does in store lol I think its a store-by-store thing.
I called all Apple stores in DC/VA/MD area couple told me to try today, also rang about 20 BB most said try weekend early in the morning they wouldn't get many.
My friend is out in NYC now trying to buy me one - the suspense is killing me

Wondering, will they be able to buy 64GB iPad, dock/keyboard and case without much trouble. Or are the shortages as bad as the rumors are saying? Really hoping the 3G version will be out by then to

Does anyone actually know what a "hotcake" is? And who sells them and how well they actually sell?
Be careful, I read that there are some apps you can't download (yet, at least) with non-US iTunes accounts.
I was just visiting the local best buy for something else and saw a few middle aged women asking about the iPad. The best buy was sold out of them, although they mentioned that they had one opened 64gb that they'd sell for 10% off (probably a return). The women mentioned that they had tried finding the iPad at several stores between here and Portland without much luck.

hahahaanyway picked mine up from Pentagon City today after I got the email, While I waited there were people asking if there were any in stock and they were turning people away left and right. I had to be validated and then the worker went to the back for about 3 minutes like he was going to the under layer haha it seems like they are probably taking the ones that people aren't picking up and selling those to people that come in. I had till tomorrow at 6 to pick mine up haha

Right now it seems like Apple is hoarding all of them at the Apple stores.
Apple was not ready for the demand of this product, they way under estimated the demand and created this black market for people overseas who are paying as much as $1000 (or more) for a $699 Ipad.
I just want the 16 gb Ipad wi fi version. But it's not easy finding one.
