If it did start at £329 i'd buy two lol.

Hopefully we will get the prices soon. As its being released in late April do you think we will get both models released at once? Would rather get a 3G but if there is a long wait don't think i'll be able to manage it.

Probably £379 although it *could* be £329 with a 12 month contract on O2 or something similar.. ?

Anything under £400 would be magic!!

maybe £379, could've mistaken the 7 for a 2 from a quick glance.

£329
£379

very similar... Not that i'm getting one since i'm not really a book reader and besides games, not sure yet what other uses this has over my latitude xt/iphone. (apart from the omg weight/size) lol

Although depending what the next iPhone is like i may just pass and get the iPad instead.

meh, soon find out :)

£329
£829

That pound sign can play horrible tricks on your eyes.

Though £329 is very generous price point and well below what the estimates are, it was the same with the american launch everyone saying $1000 but coming in at half that.

I am an optimist and live in hope that Apple will give us brits a present! :)

I've set aside £399 for the 16GB model. If the 16GB was indeed £329, then I'd be getting the 32GB (can't see it though).

I'm buying the 16g and the apple ipad case which is in the US store at $39
if I can get the ipad and case for £400 or less I would be very very happy!!
Make it happen Steve !!!

Hmmmm... I didnt just post that all 4 or 5 post before you!

Love when threads aren't read first, juts post on the basis of the last or first post.

LOL.

The price could be lower than the us price because of the smaller market over here for a luxury item like an ipad.

Err... No. The biggest issue is the huge difference in sales tax. In the US it's 7 - 9%. In the UK it's 17.5%. So you have a 10% difference in price right there - and it is totally outside the control of Apple. That doesn't take account for currency risk (the risk that the $/£ rate changes - both currencies have been a little touchy lately). Sorry, but for several reasons stated many times on here, Apple UK prices will never be lower than US.

Like already stated by others, I can't remember UK Apple prices ever being lower than in the US, and whilst I live in hope & optimism, I can't see it happening with the iPad.
Don't forget, it's not known as "rip-off Britain" for nothing.

What if apple felt dissapointed about the sales in the USA, do you think this would mean that they would lower the price elsewhere? Maybe this is the case.

because 300,000 sales - outselling the iPhone, iPhone 3g AND iPhone 3GS on first day sales - is disappointing :p
